Customer: "Your pork chops any good? The ones I get are like cardboard." Butcher: "They're like cardboard because the pig was built to order." Customer: "Built?" Butcher: "Bred. In the seventies the advice came down that fat was killing people, so the pig industry bred the fat off the pig. Took about twenty years. Backfat halved. A 1970s chop had a thumb of fat on the edge and marbling through the middle. Yours has a rind of nothing and a muscle that's never been near a lard cell." Customer: "That sounds like progress." Butcher: "Taste it and tell me. The fat was the flavour. The fat was what stopped it drying out in the pan. They bred the dinner out of the animal to meet a guideline, and then wondered why nobody cooks pork any more." Customer: "My mum's chops were lovely." Butcher: "Your mum's chops came off a different pig. Same breed name, different animal underneath. They changed the pig and never changed the recipe, so your mother's twenty minutes under the grill turns a modern chop into a roof tile." Customer: "Can you still get the old sort?" Butcher: "Rare breeds. Tamworth, Gloucester Old Spot, kept by people who ignored the memo. Slower to grow, more fat on, and a chop that tastes like 1975. That's what this is." Customer: "Why did the industry go along with it?" Butcher: "Because the supermarket buys the lean one. And the supermarket buys the lean one because a man in an office told the country fat was poison. Fifty years on the country's fatter than it's ever been and the pig's thinner than it's ever been. One of them got the advice wrong." Customer: "Four of those, then." Butcher: "Leave the rind on, let it brown, and don't apologise to anyone for the fat. The pig had it put back on purpose."

Be very clear The Commissioner is protecting a man with paraphillias who wants to attach a new born baby to suck his nipple & potentially consume drugs induced discharge This is a very serious child protection matter Also giving these men access to breast feeding spaces
Sex Discrimination Commissioner Anna Cody at Senate estimates said that protections designed to protect breastfeeding women from being discriminated against would also extend to “induced lactation in a biological male”. Read the full story: bit.ly/4zb29gC

Need help please! An independent bookseller in Bath have agreed to list Pat Carlen's and my book (quite a coup given that they also stock Grave Lavery and Susan Stryker) If 10 people can order it, I might be in with a chance of getting it stocked. The book is about my fight against OU. It is straight up GC and recounts feminist and lesbian lives in UK in 80s onwards. If you know someone near southwest / Bath, please get them to order the book. mrbsemporium.com/

Frank has been through far more than any dog should. 💔 Abandoned, deaf, incredibly sick, and severely malnourished, this beautiful boy needed urgent help. We promised to do everything we could to save him. Today? He is up, running, and bulked up like a completely different dog! Seeing him so strong and happy makes it all worth it. We are so proud of you, Frank!

I have to leave Australia so I can actually run a start-up exclusively for women while men who claim to be women have BREASTFEEDING PROTECTIONS IN LAW🤬 The current government, including representatives of the attorney-general, have no plans to fix it. They’re happy to admit it:

Smearing victims needs to be recognized as abuse
One of the things I don’t understand about Justin Baldoni and why he decided to launch a smear campaign against Blake lively is that he really risked ruining the film it ends with us at the box office in order to have his sugar daddy Steve Sarowitz pay for a coordinated smear campaign. All because Justin Baldoni wanted to defame and intimidate Blake Lively. He must have spent a lot of money on the smear campaign and lawsuits that followed soon after it was discovered that he launched a smear campaign against his lead actress Blake Lively. It seems like to me it would’ve been cheaper, less time consuming and easier if Baldoni would’ve just taken accountability and actually apologized for his actions .

So this chap who wants to ‘give transphobes a fright’ at Halloween parkruns has been emailing parkrun event teams to promote his campaign. He opens by asserting that @sharrond62 and @wsusportsunion are ‘sueing parkrun because they want to make the event less inclusive.’ That is incorrect. What they want - as do many others - is for parkrun to stop allowing males to run in the female category. He also asks event teams to add his new club to their club affiliations and promote it on their socials! Meanwhile, he’s actively trying to drum up support in Facebook and Reddit groups - based on false information. And is now started to gain some traction. I like to think no event teams would be silly enough to get involved. But I’ve met event directors - and other volunteers - who have been totally ‘captured’ by gender ideology. Some think running Pride-themed events and flying the ‘Progress Pride’ flag is perfectly acceptable, seemingly unaware - or unconcerned - that it represents contested political and ideological positions that may make some participants deeply uncomfortable. This new group has apparently been set up in ‘opposition’ to @RRRunnersUK whose members peacefully protest parkrun’s policy by turning up in club T-shirts to run, walk or volunteer. Their rules explicitly state that they won’t approach anyone or discuss the club unless asked. Contrast this with a group putting out what I personally feel is a rather ‘menacing’ statement about giving ‘transphobes a fright’ at Halloween parkruns. And let’s be honest … they’re talking about women. Because it’s predominantly women campaigning for fairness in women’s sport. I’ve seen how hostile some trans activists can be towards women who challenge gender ideology. So I genuinely worry this could put women at risk - and cause disruption at events. I sincerely hope parkrun will intervene. For me, this crosses the line between peaceful protest and political campaigning. I love parkrun. I’ve been involved for 13 years and currently give up around 20 hours a month volunteering for an organisation which has a policy I believe discriminates against women. But if this isn’t dealt with appropriately, I’ll be seriously considering whether I can continue to volunteer my time as an event director.

I have male friends and they're some of the nicest people around. But we don't use my mates as a basis for policy with regards to entry into female changing rooms.

Stop playing the victim over your made up problems. Trans people are not a threat, but you're to much of a sheep to understand that. I have trans friends, and they're some of the nicest people around. Maybe because they understand what it's like to have to deal with you.

The Court of Appeal has considered the new “Child Focused Court” for the first time. The judgment raised serious concerns about how domestic abuse is handled in these new courts. Read Barrister Niamh Fegan’s article: proudmans.com/post/child-foc…

It’s the right thing to do @ShabanaMahmood but appalling that Henry’s family have even had to fight this hard to get the ‘independent review’. I have no doubt the abject failures of our public agencies will once more be shamefully exposed. When will you listen? When will you act? Our policing, our watchdogs, our health service is FAILING. How many more innocent lives must be taken and decent families destroyed because those who didn’t do their jobs properly failed to take any accountability. ➡️ Independent review announced into murder of student Henry Nowak bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cv70…

🚨A renewed push for mandatory shared care is being sold as fair and child-centred. Its neither. It is a pushback against moves to prioritise safety over contact. Most private law cases involve domestic abuse. Forcing equal time in those cases doesn't protect children, it creates ongoing proximity to an abuser. Children are not units to be divided equally. They need to be safe. 📰Why Mandatory Shared Care is a Terrible Idea: 🔗nataliepage.co.uk/2026/10/26…

My intrepid daughter is finally in Reykjavik, after overnight diversion to Amsterdam. She planned her stay with online info and reviews from lone female travellers. In my head she’s my baby, still, but she’s striding the world. I never had a dad so I wing it one reality at a time

Sometimes, all it takes is a little love to bring someone back to life❤️ When we first rescued Polly, she was hidden beneath severely matted fur and covered in hundreds of ticks, but now her fur is growing back beautifully, her little personality is shining through, and she couldn't be happier🥰 And now, Polly is ready for the next chapter of her life! She's officially looking for a forever home in Thailand🇹🇭 If you want to know more about Polly, you can head to the Adoptable Dogs page on our website or click here happydoggo.com/adoptable-dog…
