It must take enormous motivation to get ready every morning, commute from Ballabgarh towards Gurugram, arrive at a bus stand like this -and still take out your phone, record it, share it and hope that this time someone will care enough to act. Our dear member Sumit Tayal has been doing exactly that for 3 years. 3 years of documenting and reporting waste dumping and burning. 3 years of raising concerns. 3 years of hoping the civic authorities -including CAQM/CPCB -will hold the local authorities accountable and fix ground situation And yet, here we are. Open dumping. Open burning. Food waste, cups, plates, fruit waste, straws and plastic around vendor stalls. Stray cattle. Open defecation. Road dust. Filth. As Sumit says in the video: “सामने ही पुलिस चौकी और नगर निगम फरीदाबाद का कार्यालय भी है, तब ये हाल है।” The police post is right there. The Municipal Corporation Faridabad office is right there. Then how does this become #normal? @PMOIndia -how does the government expect people to shift to public transport to reduce congestion and emissions when this is what awaits them? We aren’t asking for an airport lounge. We are asking for a decent bus stand in 2026: clean surroundings, functional toilets, drinking water, proper waste collection, source reduction and segregation, a system for vendors to manage their waste, no dumping or burning and a paved, usable approach road. And yes, we have all seen how quickly public spaces can be cleaned and made presentable when a VIP event is expected. So clearly, it can be done. But perhaps ordinary commuters know the truth: #We_are_not_VIPs_But_We_pay_taxes, use public transport and ask for basic civic infrastructure -while being lectured about our bhagidari. @MoolChandSharma ji a bus stand in 2026 should not look like 1426. @VipulGoelBJP ji The SWM Rules, 2026 are in force. Three years of citizen documentation is enough. Please inspect. Please enforce. Please fix. And please tell citizens what action has been taken. Sumit has done his part. Now, who will do theirs? @cmohry @HaryanaRoadways @csharyana @ulbharyana @Haryana_spcb @BallabgarhR @CPCB_OFFICIAL @CAQM_Official #Ballabgarh #Faridabad #HaryanaRoadways #PublicTransport #WasteManagement #SWMRules2026 #OpenDumping #WasteBurning #CleanAirBharat #CivicAccountability #SmartCity @PTI_News @moefcc @MoHFW_INDIA

So, was it really about religion, or about protecting a ₹7,000 crore fireworks industry and its 3 lakh jobs?! The Firecracker Sellers Association is celebrating ₹7,000 crore in sales and already setting a target of ₹10,000 crore for 2027. What is being celebrated? Not innovation, cleaner production or a transition to safer livelihoods, but the continued expansion of a hazardous industry. Delhi-NCR was fed the narrative that this was about protecting religion. Once again, faith was conveniently used as a shield for commercial interests. Not a shloka, mantra or prayer in our religious traditions asks us to sacrifice the breath of an asthmatic child, an elderly person or anyone struggling to breathe. And the argument that it is just one day of fireworks? So what if AQI jumps from 300 to 1,100? We will manage! Except Sivakasi and Chennai are not in the Indo-Gangetic Plain. The geography and meteorology are different. Coastal sea breezes and rainfall can help disperse or deposit pollutants in parts of southern India. Delhi-NCR, landlocked and trapped in the winter pollution cycle, has no such easy escape. We will instead look to Rekha Gupta and Sirsa for artificial rain, or simply pray for the next 90 days that the smog clears and the damage from particulate matter, toxic metals and other chemical pollutants somehow disappears. But why should we expect divine intervention when we have so completely misunderstood our own prayers? God knows that bursting fireworks is not religion. Protecting Prakriti is religion. Protecting life is religion. We pray for long life, good health and prosperity, yet willingly compromise all three in the name of celebration. Diwali is not pollution. Firecrackers are pollution. Don’t confuse the commercial success of an industry with the preservation of religion. And when the brilliant colours fade, remember the black smoke that millions will be left breathing long after the celebrations are over. And dear Prime Minister, once again, you will be celebrating Diwali away from this airshed. Please do come back. Delhi-NCR could certainly do with your intervention. 🙏 @LiveLawIndia @barandbench @jagdishmamgain @sanjayakmishra @imShashwatAnand @mananverma @CAQM_Official @CPCB_OFFICIAL @AQI_India

Loud crackers are still going off after 10 pm in neighbourhoods across Pune. I tried reporting it and the MPCB app showed a server error. Who is enforcing the Bombay High Court’s directions in Pune tonight, and where should residents report violations when the MPCB app fails? @mpcb_official @PuneCityPolice @PMCPune @CPCB_OFFICIAL @navalMH
Important Public Appeal by BMC and MPCB as per Hon'ble Bombay High Court Directives! Essential guidelines have been issued to control air and noise pollution across Maharashtra and to ensure safe and secure festival celebrations. By strictly adhering to these rules and regulations, let us protect the environment and celebrate festivals safely! #MPCB

🌿💚 I truly look up to you, and deeply value your guidance and encouragement for @CleanAirBharat. 🙏🪻❤️

In January, @moefcc announced notices to 88 industries for not installing OCEMS, with closure action promised. Months of meetings/reviews/assurances later, this is the pathetic situation. Another announcement. Bold headlines but no enforcement! @byadavbjp

Hon’ble Union Environment Minister @byadavbjp ji, As a Member of Parliament from Alwar, Rajasthan, I would like to draw your attention to the environmental and public health crisis facing Syalodara in Sikar district and Bayal, Dholoda, Bigopur and several adjoining villages along the Haryana-Rajasthan border. Around 60,000 people, nearly 15 villages and approximately 1,000 acres of standing crops are reportedly affected by relentless crusher dust, deteriorating air quality and declining groundwater. The accompanying video, recorded at 6:48 AM on 2 October, features local resident and tireless public health advocate Shri Malkhan Singh Bhati ji explaining the villagers plight. Look at the massive plume of crusher dust spreading across the landscape, with the Aravallis in the background. This was even before the more severe pollution period. Imagine what these families are breathing now. We scrutinise stubble burning and its impact on Delhi, but who is paying attention to the communities living amidst crusher pollution? Are their lungs any less important? I urge you to intervene and ensure independent scientific assessment, health surveys, groundwater testing and strict enforcement of environmental norms at all crusher units. 🙏🪔 @narendramodi @PMOIndia @NayabSainiBJP @RajCMO @RaoNarbir @India_NHRC @cmohry @CAQM_Official @CPCB_OFFICIAL @haryana_spcb @MoHFW_INDIA @JPNadda @KunwarMSBhati @SandeepS_Bhati @berwaltweets #PublicHealth #AirPollution #Enforcement #PollutionControl #Diwali2026

Imagine being seriously ill, but having no diagnostic tools ..not even a thermometer to record your temperature. How would you expect a proper diagnosis or treatment plan? Certainly not through intuition alone. Isn’t this precisely what the report exposes? Our cities are sick and need a proper, holistic treatment plan to combat air pollution. But how can we get the diagnosis right, let alone prescribe the right interventions, when the monitoring itself is so inadequate? The Indian Express report reveals that 39 of Delhi’s 87 industrial emission monitoring systems were offline. Of the 48 transmitting data, 26 were violating emission limits. Monitoring of several harmful gaseous pollutants also remains grossly inadequate. How do we control what we aren’t even adequately measuring? indianexpress.com/article/ci… @CAQM_Official @CPCB_OFFICIAL @DPCC_Pollution @moefcc @mssirsa @gupta_rekha @IndianExpress @SophiyaMathew1 #AirPollution #IndustrialEmissions #AirQualityMonitoring #CleanAir #DelhiNCR #Accountability #CleanAirBharat

🚨This is nothing short of a criminal assault on public health! Openly burning waste in a public park is a flagrant violation of environmental laws. The Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 prohibit open waste burning. CAQM’s GRAP Stage III is in force across NCR. BNS provisions on public nuisance (Sections 270, 292–293) must also be invoked wherever applicable. MCD must hold the area sanitation team and supervisory officers accountable. Do not simply extinguish the fire and clean up. Identify and prosecute those responsible. This incident exposes a deeper failure …we have no effective systems to control pollution at source. Respected @CAQM_Official and @MunCorpGurugram with GRAP Stage III now in force across NCR and air quality deteriorating sharply, this needs immediate intervention as an air-pollution mitigation measure, not just another road-maintenance complaint. Requesting the concerned authorities to urgently consider two interventions for the 📍Sector 23A residential collector road (18-metre road, Janam Divas Park side) , Gurugram. 1. #Immediaterelief: MCG may please arrange mechanised vacuum sweeping, regular water-misting and dust suppression, clear accumulated soil and debris, and ensure dry sweeping is stopped in-order to reduce residents exposure to the resuspended PM10 and PM2.5. 2. #AddressTheSource : Request our district authorities GMDA MCG Traffic Police to jointly assess the excessive traffic load on this residential road and identify the sources of dust. Unnecessary heavy vehicles and through-traffic should be diverted to more suitable roads. With pollution levels already so high, residents are in dire need of immediate relief while a sustainable solution is worked out. 🙏 @OfficialGMDA @gurgaonpolice @TrafficGGM @DC_Gurugram @CPCB_OFFICIAL @cmohry @Pardeep_padam #Gurugram #AirPollution #RoadDust #DustSuppression #GRAP3 #CleanAir #PublicHealth #CleanAirBharat @Bhawani4Gurgaon

Khandsa SCP: Urgent Action Needed To Prevent Another Waste Fire A municipal Secondary Collection Point at Khandsa continues to accumulate factory and industrial waste, including plastic trimmings, textile and garment chindi waste and other combustible material. Despite several fires, repeated complaints and years of highlighting the problem, the site continues to receive and pile up mixed waste. For seven years, we have been reporting the inflow of industrial waste from the adjoining Sector 37C HSIIDC industrial area. And yet, here we are. MCG’s latest post, following Additional Commissioner Smt. Ankita Chaudhary’s visit on 23rd Oct to Khandsa, speaks of better infrastructure, improved waste management and a cleaner Gurugram. But what do the photographs from the site show? The gap between official assurances and ground reality needs to be addressed. Factory owners pay for every bag and kilogram of waste to be collected. So who is collecting it, who is being paid to transport it, and why is it ending up at Khandsa? Where does it go after collection? Why isn’t it being segregated, recovered and recycled through authorised channels? MCG deserves credit for impounding a vehicle carrying factory waste to Khandsa on 24 September. But catching one transporter is not enforcement of a system. The continued inflow demands an investigation into the entire chain ..waste generators, collection contractors, transporters, payments and final disposal. CPCB took cognisance of our complaint (TW 21-27013). MCG marked it “addressed”. Our letter of 14 September had already flagged the mini-landfill conditions, the government school barely 50 metres away and the recurring fire risk. The latest photographs show why this cannot be treated as a resolved complaint. We are asking for a high-level joint enquiry by MCG, HSIIDC and HSPCB. Please follow the money. Map all the transporters collecting waste from the industrial units Establish who is responsible and take appropriate action wherever violations are found. Truly our city cannot keep paying the environmental and financial price for a waste chain in which generators pay, waste leaves their premises, and the public is left with the pollution and waste fires. The objective must be waste recovery, not merely mixed waste dumping and waste removal @MunCorpGurugram @impradeepdahiya @CPCB_OFFICIAL @CAQM_Official @Haryana_spcb @DC_Gurugram @csharyana @ulbharyana @hsiidc @HspcbS @HSIIDCIAManesar @mdhsiidc @cmohry @avneeshkhandsa #Khandsa #Gurugram #IndustrialWaste #FactoryWaste #WasteManagement #WasteFires #WasteRecovery #Traceability #Accountability #PublicHealth #FireSafety #CivicAction

#HappeningHaryana Haryana is being projected as a dream investment destination. ₹66,000 crore in investment MoUs, promises of world-class infrastructure, ease of doing business and a government celebrating its GST contribution. The CM and 48 BJP MLAs have also met the PM Sh @narendramodi ji to discuss governance and development. But what does governance look like on the ground? Citizens across the state are reporting broken roads, construction dust, debris dumping, waste burning, poor sanitation and civic infrastructure failures on grievance platforms, often without meaningful resolution. Every monsoon exposes the inadequacy of civic infrastructure all over again. @CAQM_Official has itself flagged wilful non-compliance by HSPCB with its directions, including the shocking finding that most webcam links at registered construction sites were non-functional. Nine Haryana cities alone have now recorded AQI above 300, while Delhi and neighbouring NCR cities are also battling very poor to severe air quality. Investment announcements and GST collections make headlines. But where is the money going if it isn’t translating into sustainable development, functional civic infrastructure and effective pollution control? Where is the accountability for the air people breathe, the roads-we use and the environment we live in? You cannot build a dream destination on broken infrastructure, polluted air and wilful regulatory non-compliance. Is this really the Haryana we are selling? @NayabSainiBJP ji @PMOIndia hindustantimes.com/cities/ch… #HappeningHaryana #Haryana #PublicHealth #AirPollution #CivicInfrastructure #EnvironmentalCompliance @neerajamloha

Believe this road is being carpeted for the CM’s @NayabSainiBJP visit. Apparently, the CM’s convoy shouldn’t have to negotiate potholes and ditches, while Sector 50 residents can live with broken roads for months, even years. Remember May–July 2026, when residents endured months of disruption as top bituminous layers were removed from Nirvana Central Road, leaving taxpayers to deal with dust, inconvenience and deteriorating conditions. But when a VVIP visit is scheduled, roads can suddenly be fixed overnight! Work continued at 2 AM, disrupting residents and impacting Espace societies too. Society entrances blocked, hundreds inconvenienced. @cmohry @bhartiharsana9 @RaoNarbir @MunCorpGurugram Is this how public infrastructure is meant to work? Thank you @bhartiharsana9 for waking up from slumber and realising that a new road should be gifted to the citizens of sec-50 right before Diwali. It's a wonderful gift that people shall rmmbr for weeks if not months. God job done by blocking all the societies's entrances and +

Dear @CAQM_Official On 26 October, @OfficialGMDA responded that road-berm cleaning and excess-soil removal were being undertaken, and that details of this corridor had been shared with the concerned team. Yet, resident @Rohith_Ambawata update on 5 November shows, the problem persists. The road remains heavily covered in dust. What action has actually been taken?
