To each their own butā¦
1. Fans donāt understand it, therefore donāt like to watch it
2. Kids donāt get ārecruitedā
3. Itās not what everyone else does
I mean if we fought the British the āconventionalā way, we probably wouldnāt have won the American revolution. š¤·

ā¼ļø Joy is a competitive advantage ā¼ļø
The mainstream perception of āgood coachingā is screaming at players, no joking around and no fun on the floor. A lot of coaches, players and fans view fun and hard work as an āeither, orā.
Every competitive coach struggles with this. There isnāt one who hasnāt lost the joy amidst the grind.
BUTā¦.
When JOY AND HARD WORK are in SYNC, itās game over. šš¼

Good Read @Nick__DiMarco
"Movements that reveal output do not necessarily build output...
If a movement does not develop something the sport asks the athlete to do, it is not quality training; it is performative exercise."

Iām not a āyou have to play multiple sportsā guy at all. Iām a ādo what you want to do and enjoy 1 sport or 5 sportsā guyā¦what do you and your parents think is best.
BUT let me leave these for those adults pushing kids to give up sports they WANT to play in and focus on one sport to āplay at the next levelā.
I got news for you. 98% of you are still going to be paying for college or getting academic scholarships.
So play the sports you enjoy in high school. Stop listening to the fake noise. Be a kid and enjoy it. Anyone telling you different has a motive behind it. ESPECIALLY if you pay those people for their services. Just sayinā¦.

Some people will argue Joe is stuck in his ways. Others will say heās correct.
There is ZERO you can argue about Joeās impact on this field.

šŖš¼Donāt be afraid to get your athletes brutally strong!!!
ā”ļøAs @pntrack and @Tony_Villani_ always say, āIt can be the priority WITHOUT being the majority.ā
