Yes, happy to explain. I don’t think it’s wise to let your opinion of an entire immigration policy be dictated by outlier cases, tragic cases, or sad stories. I also support the second amendment even when there are tragic cases of gun violence. I support ICE and I believe mass deportations are necessary. I believe in law and order and I believe in justice. So does Samuel Sey. I don’t fault ICE for doing its job. I also believe in helping friends when you can, and also believe that mercy is sometimes appropriate. I know Samuel—he’s a good man of integrity. He has made good faith effort to file the right paperwork and comply with the law. He didn’t deceive or purposefully break the law. He would make an excellent American citizen. I hope he can become one someday. There are many other similar cases, I’m sure. It doesn’t change my opinion. All we can do is support justice as well as we can, and extend mercy where appropriate to the best of our ability. You might find this inconsistent, but I don’t. It’s just part of living in a messy world.

It seems like a lot of people are bringing up "Toxic Empathy," and "Suicidal Empathy," with regards to Samuel Sey. I can tell these people have never read the books. Allowing people to immigrate to our country who hate liberty and freedom is suicided/toxic empathy. Allowing people to immigrate to our country who hate the laws is suicided/toxic empathy. Allowing people to immigrate who hate free speech, equal rights, or equal protection under the law is suicidal/toxic empathy. Allowing people to immigrate who do not want to assimilate to language, laws, or cultural norms is suicidal/toxic empathy. Allowing people to immigrate who are at high risk to hurting citizens because of ideological or criminal background is suicidal/toxic empathy. Allowing people to immigrate to our country who will in no way add to our society and only take resources is suicidal/ toxic empathy. Samuel Sey does the opposite of all of these things. He is a law loving, married (to an American), Christian father, who works and cares for his family. From his past statements, it is obvious that he believed he was doing things the legal way. I will continue to pray for him and his family as every other freedom loving Christian American should do as well.

This has been probably the darkest 24 hours I’ve ever experienced on social media in my life. The things being said about Samuel, his wife, and his small children are unthinkably evil. There is a segment of the so-called “Christian” nationalist crowd that has given itself completely over to Satan. I’ve never had more resolve to defeat these subversive demons invading the Right and invading Christianity.
