This one is extra special for the Connect family!
Connect is making its mark at DHL Stadium this Saturday, with two of our very own Academy alumni, Haashim Pead and Lukhanyo Vokozela, alongside Connect mentor and board member, Seabelo Senatla! The Connect family is making moves!
We used to train in Green Point Park now these two get to play in the stadium together as @THESTORMERS teammates.
Star scrumhalf Haashim Pead has signed a four-year contract with us and has already begun training with the non-travelling squad in Cape Town.

@ConnectNPC You nearly had two ex-students scoring the winning try in yesterday's derby, Haashim Pead did it in Durban and Lukhanyo Vokozela moved the ball to Ntuthuko Mchunu in the driving mall just before Ntuthuko scored that one. 🤣
Yesterday was a special day for all of us at Connect.
One of our original Khayelitsha players, Lukhanyo Vokozela, made his URC debut for the @StormersRugby.
Coach John Dobson spoke about his journey at the post-match press conference. Thanks to @MarcoJacobsZA for the footage.

Lukhanyo Vokozela
Dobbo told us tonight a bit of the story of Lukhanyo, another typical desperate story of gang violence and growing up poor and how hungry he is to make it. He came through the Ingram Rugby Academy in the Cape, he joined them because he know he will get a meal/day. Hey man these stories make me moeg. We must do better as a nation. Looking better after our young kids.
