Gutted to hear the news about SNY. I’ve had the privilege of working there the last 7 years. From working on “The Thread” and staying to host and report for Sportsnite. I always had other jobs, but none was like this. The people made it what it was - a family. I’m devastated for everyone affected. It’s a sad day for NY sports.
Yep, this feels like a swan song. That's life.
Jon Cooper on the Nikita Kucherov situation: "I will sit here and tell you nothing has changed in what our goals are this year just, maybe, the context of how it is going to go about. Kuch is 100% a part of this team. He wants to be a part of this team for this season and he is committed to be with the group that loves him and the group he loves. What I don't want to get skewed in all of this is if Kuch turns the puck over or the play does not go exactly his way and he shows frustration or, at some point, the coach who is coaching him is showing frustration with him or somebody else on the team and, then, everybody says, 'Oh my God. He wants out.' That will not be the case. Jon Cooper will coach the team the way Jon Cooper has always coached the team and Kuch is going to play like the superstar he is and the way he has for a decade and a half and that is how it is going to continue. All the rest of it is outside noise and, for Kuch internally, what happens after our season is over, that's Kuch's right and he has earned that right for whatever happens. For us, it probably made the team stronger."
No one thought either Texas or Ohio State was going to be "up against the wall" in losing that game. Texas didn't get in last year because it got dragged by a 4-8 Florida team.

After a decorated 24-year run at ESPN, Nicole Noren resigned in protest.
She couldn’t go along with the network’s all-out embrace of gambling.
For the first time publicly, in @CJR, Noren shares the deeply personal reasons behind her decision.

As I've said many times. They generally like him, they don't really respect him. I also think a lot of the gimmicky shit he does ran dry a long time ago. It's probably authentic, but it looks lame.
But the decision to go for it. I mean they haven't won a road game in about three years. They were rolling and 21-0 might've put the game away given how sluggish Louisville had been to that point.
I didn't have as much as a problem with Norvell's decision to go for the fourth-and-goal up 14-0, but the play call was garbage, especially given the success they were having with the power inside run game. Of course that doesn't explain how FSU crumbled for the next two quarters
