NOV. TEMPERATURE SOON TO BE RECORD- HEADED TO 2°C Tied temperature with the record 18 Nov. 2023. Boosted by El Nino, October was record 1.76°C, so soon will reach 2°C. #elnino #climatechange #globalwarming

Super El Niño 🔥is raging across the Equatorial Pacific -- likely the strongest in 1,000 years, and you're alive to witness its magnitude and power. Shields up! However, this stunning map shows "cooler blue🟦" over 2/3rds of the Lower 48 this winter for temperatures --> due to Pacific storm systems like "ice storms" and "atmospheric rivers" from a firehose / pineapple express🍍which will lead to Nor'easters (blockbuster blizzards). Meteorologists now have the "answer key" for the upcoming winter, and there is no going back. This is "baked in the cake" and will unfold exactly as we feared: planetary warmth is higher in the background, and put a turbocharged and super-moist atmosphere on top. Prepare for perhaps the craziest winter in your lifetime, until the next one in the early 2030s.

You betcha there's a connection to Europe. There's nowhere on Earth to hide from this monstrosity. There's a 5% chance of 2027 as a whole exceeding 2C. The "most likely" midpoint is 1.8C. The top of the 90% range is 2.02C. El Nino warming is permanent, irreversible. This is hitting 3 years after the last monstrous El Nino. No one could make this up. The situation couldn't be any worse.
New ECMWF data shows the *strongest subtropical jet stream* in its forecast history blowing across the Pacific and U.S. this winter into next spring, with record-strength winds predicted from California to Florida. There's even a connection to Europe. El Niño fuels more thunderstorms near the equator, which release heat high into the atmosphere. That extra warmth strengthens the Hadley circulation and steepens the temperature gradient between the tropics and the mid-latitudes, which strengthens the subtropical jet. And that's why such a stormy winter is anticipated across the western, southern and eastern United States.

One of my favorite ways of putting climate change into perspective is using standard deviations. It’s too bad most folks don’t relate to it. Because, for people who understand this way of expressing likelihood, 7.22 sigma is otherworldly

The climate is changing faster than the world can adapt, and those who contributed the least to it are often the most vulnerable to its impacts. Even tripling adaptation finance by 2035 would cover less than a third of developing countries' needs. The #AdaptationGap is growing. Financing must catch up.

Breaking News! Code: y-axis alert! On November 1, 2026, the global sea-surface temperature anomaly exceeded 7 standard deviations above the 1982-2011 baseline for the first time, reaching 7.12σ. In "normal times" this would be about a 1-in-1,800,000,000,000 event.

After the July-like MINIMUMS >30C and every single record broken, Maximum Temperatures are also exceptional across Middle East 38.4 Al Ahsa SAUDI ARABIA New November record Records and 38C+ also in Kuwait and Emirates. More Minimums >30C next nights !
Since 🌡️was invented, there had never been anything comparable to what we are seeing now in West Asia. Still MINIMUMS >30C in Middle East and tropical nights in The Caucasus at 43N. This won't end anytime soon: Thousands of November records will be pulverized allover the area.

👀 It looks like the North Pole is nearly 30°C above the 1991-2030 average for this day. THIRTY.
The main issue with any early cold potential is just how much anonymous warmth there is across the Arctic at the moment. Temperatures are some 14-18°C above average for the time of year.

Wanna see something really scary for Halloween? The extra greenhouse gases humans have added to the atmosphere now exert a warming influence equivalent to roughly a billion Hiroshima bombs’ worth of energy every year. The level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is now higher than it has been in millions of years, long before human civilisation developed.

It feels as if no one has yet begun to get to grips with the true nature of what our species is facing. It will never stop getting hotter. To go from 1.5C to 2C in less than around 10 years is literally beyond belief. 1.5C and 2C are different planets. On average, during the last deglaciation, itself an extremely fast warming event, it took 660 years to warm by 0.5C.
