The @timesofindia has come out with the sarkari defense against @reporters_co investigation without citing the story or it's findings.
It's correspondent Siddhartha Dutta reached out to one of our writers yesterday to find holes in our investigation on behalf of the govt without disclosing what he was attempting - mounting an argument on behalf of the ECI against TRC.
Its ironic that the @ceorajsthan's tweet and TOI's own report prove the SIR has been flawed in the state.
Both the state and central voter roll when updated at the same time should have found the same voters alive, regardless of the voter base it started with. Because both ECI and state commission claim to have ground verified each voter.
You can't have a person declared dead on one list and alive on the other at the same time.
How can the same official find a voter dead for one list and literally days later find her alive for the other voter list.
In general, the legacy newsrooms who have thousand times more budgets than tiny orgs such as @reporters_co should not feel threatened by citing news organisation's work they are trying to diss. We are in different though overlapping businesses. One is in journalism, the other in media and advertising. Readers know who is doing which.

Hello @JoshiPralhad, Why mislead people. 'PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana' is not having any takers as Karnataka Govt's scheme 'Gruha Jyothi' has made power free for most households in Karnataka.
'PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana' requires households to either invest initial amount or take a bank loans, later claim subsidy from the Center and install solar rooftop to get free electricity.
Eg : For 2 kW, Pre-Subsidy Cost is around ₹90,000 ( which you have to initially pay from your pockets), Central Subsidy after installation and approval is ₹60,000.
But Karnataka Govt's 'Gruha Jyothi' Scheme has made power free (upto 200 units) for most households in Karnataka. A total of 1.64 crore domestic connections benefit from the scheme in Karnataka and in Bangalore 39 lakh households have availed Gruha Jyothi free electricity benefit since the scheme's launch.
The PM Surya Ghar scheme has not taken off in Karnataka, not because it is named after PM as you claim....

How is this misleading @MEAFactCheck? Is it normal to set up calls with the White House through a Lobby Firm? All former diplomats say Lobby firms usually facilitate work on the Hill- bilateral ties are dealt with by officials.
This post is misleading. It is a normal practice in the US for Embassies and other entities to hire a lobby firm. Indian Embassy in Washington DC has hired such firms since 1948. These details are available in the public domain. In so far the filing done by Mercury Public Affairs LLC is concerned, it clearly mentions that they only disseminated the post on X.

Things are bad enough that Modi needs a lobbying firm to even talk to his ‘Fraaand, Dolaand Trump’.
But the real insult to injury?
Every time Trump calls Modi his “very good friend”, “true friend”, “good friend” or “great friend”, it comes at a price - paid to the lobbying firm by Modi using Indian taxpayers’ money.
Yet, despite all this - and perhaps precisely because of Modi’s subservience to Trump - the US continues to treat India with an unprecedentedly exploitative and high-handed attitude.

Another $150,000 a month for access to Washington.
And even Trump's congratulatory post on @X to Narendra Modi which Modi gleefully responded and the whole BJP 's ecosystem including "certain news anchors" labelled it Vishwaguru moment, appears in a lobbying firm's filings.
According to disclosed US lobbying records:
▪️ The Indian Embassy hired Mercury Public Affairs for $75,000 per month. Its filings list Trump's social media message congratulating Modi.
▪️ Another lobbying arrangement, worth $150,000 per month, involved strategic counsel, government relations and contacts with senior US officials.
▪️The disclosed engagements included calls involving senior White House and US administration officials.
The questions are very simple-
▪️The Modi government spending $225,000 a month on American lobbying firms, but what exactly are Indian taxpayers receiving in return?
▪️ What's the need of a paid congratulatory social media post from the US President ?
