Last night, I hosted our 30 Honorary Consuls from across 🇺🇸 at my Residence in D.C. They know their states & communities from the ground up, open doors for 🇩🇰 companies, connect us w. local decision-makers & support Danes. Grateful for their commitment! FM @larsloekke joined the celebrations as 3 Hon. Consuls received the Order of the Dannebrog from HRH Prince Joachim.

1/3rd of world’s food is lost or wasted. How do we design waste out of food system? We brought together @chelliepingree & Danish Agriculture & Food Council, @spisekammeret , @Novonesis, @FOSS & @SOS_Bangkok to discuss how policy, innovation & partnerships can turn food loss into new value. In 🇩🇰, agricultural waste is already helping produce biogas at scale: in July, biogas covered 99.7% of Danish gas consumption!

Part 1: What does the future of Tampa look like, and where can Denmark be a partner?
During our Florida roadshow, we explored that question across conversations with Mayor @JaneCastor , @TampaEDC , @Floridac100, Leader @FentriceForFL & other key stakeholders.
We discussed Tampa’s growth & economic ambitions, opportunities for stronger connections between 🇩🇰🇺🇸 businesses & institutions.
At @AIATampaBay , we also brought Danish & Floridian perspectives together around urban development, water & mobility, but for ideas we can learn from each other. For Denmark, that’s the opportunity in Tampa: building relationships, exchanging knowledge & finding practical areas where we can collaborate.
And this was just the beginning! Next stop: Miami 🌴

Part 2: Diplomacy, but make it a roadtrip, this time Miami 🇺🇸🚐🇩🇰 From Tampa, we headed to Miami, continuing our conversations on where Denmark & Florida can find common ground. Met with Mayor Eileen Higgins, connected with American & Danish companies including @ramboll , @Nacosmarine, @DEIF, @Everllance & @DSV, and explored Miami’s innovation ecosystem with Miami-Dade County’s Office of Innovation & Economic Development and @eMerge Americas. At the @univmiami , we brought Danish & Floridian perspectives together to discuss resilient waterfront cities for mutual learning between two fast growing coastal regions. And this time we stepped away from meeting rooms for a candid conversation about Denmark & Miami because sometimes diplomacy also happens best beyond formal boardrooms, at the popular @adayinmiami podcast. From business and innovation to cities, knowledge and people-to-people connections, Miami showed just how much there is to build on. This Florida roadshow may be a roadtrip but the connections are meant to last 🇩🇰🇺🇸
