🚨 EASTLEIGH BUILDING COLLAPSE: 16 PEOPLE STILL MISSING AS RESCUE EFFORTS STALL
Rescue teams have opened an access route into the basement of the collapsed Eastleigh building in Nairobi and are preparing to enter as efforts to reach those trapped beneath the rubble continue.
Families are growing increasingly frustrated as rescuers struggle to reach two people whose possible presence was detected by Chinese experts using thermal imaging more than 24 hours ago.
The National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU), which is leading the operation, has confirmed that thermal imaging equipment detected signs of life beneath the rubble, offering a glimmer of hope amid the desperate search.
However, with 16 people still missing, delays in reaching those potentially trapped are raising concerns about the pace of the rescue operation.
Authorities must urgently intensify efforts, deploy the necessary equipment and explore every possible avenue to reach survivors.

🚨 KENYA FACES LOOMING FUEL SHORTAGE
A fuel supply crisis could be looming in Kenya as independent petroleum dealers threaten to suspend fuel purchases from oil marketing companies over alleged violations of EPRA's regulated wholesale prices.
The dealers warn that some petrol stations are already experiencing stock-outs, raising fears of wider disruptions if the dispute remains unresolved.
With fuel prices already high, a prolonged standoff could disrupt transport, increase the cost of goods and services, and place further pressure on struggling households.
Will the government intervene before the situation escalates? Kenyans need answers and urgent action to protect fuel supplies.

UASU reached a verbal Sh20 billion deal with the government to end the university lecturers' strike.
The agreement is expected to be formally signed on Friday, October 30, with lecturers scheduled to resume classes on Monday, November 2, 2026.
If the deal is signed as planned, university students could finally return to normal learning after weeks of disruption.
The big question: Will the government honour the agreement and ensure lecturers' grievances are fully addressed?
🚨 WHY ARE COUNTRIES PREPARING FOR EMERGENCIES WHILE AFRICA REMAINS QUIET?
Reports say the US military is preparing for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil.
Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has urged Americans to take emergency preparedness warnings seriously, telling them to get essential supplies for their families.
Japan has also been urging emergency preparedness, while countries across Europe and Asia have been strengthening their readiness for potential crises.
But what about Africa?
Are our governments preparing citizens for possible disruptions to electricity, food supplies, fuel, water and essential services? Are families being educated on what to do if critical infrastructure fails?
This is not about spreading panic. It is about preparedness.
We should not wait for a crisis to begin before thinking about food security, clean water, emergency supplies and resilient infrastructure.
The silence raises questions, but it does not automatically prove that something sinister is coming.
Africa must take emergency preparedness seriously. An informed and prepared population is far more resilient than one caught off guard.

At the third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin invoked the words of Burkina Faso’s revolutionary leader Thomas Sankara, arguing that Western financial practices still function as a form of neocolonialism nearly four decades later.
Addressing African delegations, Putin cited Sankara’s 1987 speech to the Organization of African Unity in Addis Ababa:
“Debt is a form of neocolonialism, where the colonizers have transformed themselves into so-called technical assistants. It is a cleverly organized reconquest of Africa, aiming to subordinate its growth and development to foreign rules.”
“Unfortunately, little has changed since this speech in 1987,” Putin added. He accused Western countries of seeking to push African nations back into “debt bondage” through financing offered on “predatory terms”—conditions he said lead to repeated overpayment and undermine long-term development plans. He also connected tariff wars, “illegitimate sanctions,” economic pressure, and interference in internal affairs to the same pattern.

Kalonzo gatekeeps the Kamba vote, cheating them that "this time I will be the president."
His empty rhetoric is propelled by a fake media that thrives on propaganda and emotional headlines.
While doing this, he blinds them as they vote for his cronies, who loot Kambaland's natural resources and taxes.
Kambaland governors are on a looting spree as Wa'Kamba sit in a stupor, waiting for a Kalonzo moment that remains elusive.
Well, do you know the formation of the current ruling party [UDA] was partly funded by Mr Muthama, who owns a mining license that allows him to mine rare gemstones like Ruby Red and Green Garnets?
Yet Kalonzo and Muthama are political friends.

Kamba-land, which boasts massive natural resources such as wildlife and minerals, has remained impoverished.
Kambaland has the most significant economic corridor between Nairobi and Mombasa/Lamu/Garissa, which can turn Kambaland into an economic powerhouse in the transport industry.
Wakamba are exemplary tyre technicians. Why can't we harness this cultural skill and turn it into a million-dollar industry?
They have vast land watered by Kenya's giant rivers — Tana and Athi, Galana, and Sabaki.
They have 400 million tonnes of the world's most sought-after non-renewable fossil fuel — COAL!
But now, the Kamba's only economic resource is sand harvesting, yet minerals and precious gemstones are stolen by these same politicians.
Musyoka will come again this time to tell Kambas that he will topple Ruto, and Kambas will be hypnotised by that deceitful euphoria. — "Wantam, Wan-bullet, WaMusyoka."
After every election, these conniving politicians meet with political wheeler-dealers to collect paychecks as Kambas remain impoverished.
These career "opposition politicians" don't have a transformative agenda. They are part of the mess.
They simply camouflage and posture as "saviours" because they have not been invited to the looting table.
However, their role is to keep the masses occupied with infertile opposition politics, so that the people cannot revolt against political brinkmanship and conmanship.
They keep the masses occupied with political clownery and fiction while ignoring the fundamental problems that are disturbing our people.
Then, when the infertile opposition goes to Kamba-land, instead of having a conversation that will liberate Kambas from economic slavery, all they tell them is,
"Hi, Cousins!"

KPC–DANGOTE DEAL: RUTO REFUSES TO DISCLOSE DETAILS
President William Ruto has declined to disclose the details of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote’s acquisition of a 25% stake in the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), arguing that the shares are available on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) for anyone to buy.
Ruto has described the agreement as a standard investment deal, while reportedly threatening to deal with those questioning the transaction.
But the bigger question remains: If this is a standard investment agreement, why not make the details transparent?
Public interest demands accountability, especially when a major national infrastructure company is involved.
Kenyans deserve clarity on the terms of the deal, the valuation of the shares, and the protections in place to safeguard the country's interests.
Transparency is not an attack on investment. It is a foundation of public trust.
