Republicans in Georgia lost in 2020, in large part, because they couldn't lie their way out of the failures and racism of Trump, Perdue, Loeffler, etc. They had no message and no substance beyond repeating the word "radical" over and over again. (1)

Good Saturday morning to #electiontwitter. Of note- I’ve confirmed that the Hinds Co. Election Commission will keep working over the weekend to process the 1,000s of provisional ballots. My hunch is they might drop them late Monday/early Tuesday. @scott_colom will add to his lead in a HUGE way when that happens. #SenatorScottColom

White voters accounted for 54% of Georgia’s electorate, down from nearly 60% in the 2022 midterm and 61% when Trump first carried Georgia in 2016. Black voters, meanwhile, made up 30% of the electorate, up from about 26% four years ago.

Black voter turnout held at ~96% of 2024, the highest rate for any midterm in at least a decade, in the Deep South on Tues. If Scott Colom manages to win Mississippi's Senate seat, it wouldn't have been possible without sky-high engagement of Black voters

With Dems all but certain to prevail in Mississippi and Alaska, we're most likely looking at a 56D-44R Senate and a ~260D-175R House, which would be Dems' largest House majority since 1992.

UPDATE: Maga Party Girl (she touted this actual award on election night) Lauren Boebert losing more ground today. Democrat- Admiral Eileen Laubacher (retired) - remains in good place to win this battle.

With Democrats at 56 Senate seats (Alaska and Mississippi will flip once fully in), the GOP's path back to a outright majority in 2028 looks impossible.
- AZ, GA, OH, NH: Democrats have strong incumbents in Kelly, Warnock, Brown, and Hassan.
- WI: Ron Johnson has indicated he doesn't want to run again. This causes an open seat
- NC: Ted Budd is unpopular and lying low. Formidable opponents like Jeff Jackson could catch him off guard.
- PA: Fetterman faces a primary challenge from Chris Deluzio, who's an overperformer. Not sure who the GOP runs here.
- CO, IL: These states are safe blue and I don't see them flipping.
- Wildcards: Grassley could retire, Murkowski may switch parties, and last night showed that even red states like FL, IN, and LA can be competitive.
Maybe things could change, but I don't see how the GOP can turn this around.

Lots of thoughts on this, I'm thankful that Bernard shared this (and that GA releases full vote history so quickly).
First, this proves (in GA, for now) what we believed to be the case, Black and Latino voters turned out in large numbers. White (likely GOPs) did not.

In addition to the Black women Georgia elected statewide last night, House Minority Leader Carolyn Hugley is poised to become the first Black woman to be Speaker of the Georgia House when Democrats take over in January. And a fun fact, her husband, Isaiah Hugley, will be sworn in as Columbus’ first Black mayor in January, too.

about to head to sleep, but what a night in GA.
Ossoff wins by 18%
Dems win every single statewide race by 8-9% or more
Dems flip the state house
Comes extremely close to flipping the state senate.
Incredible, change is here, and so is a New GA.#gapol
