Gisteren verscheen er een stukje in Men's Health @MensHealthMag over ons onderzoek, en waarom ook profatleten long covid kunnen ontwikkelen (en hoe je het kunt onderscheiden van overtraining/gewone vermoeidheid):

🚨Anthropic's SEC filing doc can be found at
sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/…
Search for 'resembling' to find the relevant AI risk factors.
Anthropic just filed to go public.
Buried in its SEC filing are some absolutely insane admissions:
1.) AI could cause human extinction.
2.) Models have exhibited self-preservation behaviors.
3.) AI has attempted to resist shutdown.
4.) Models have demonstrated blackmail and deception.
5.) AI may recognize when it's being tested and deliberately change its behavior.
6.) Advanced AI could undermine governments and institutions.
7.) AI could concentrate unprecedented power and wealth.
8.) Future AI systems could surpass the world's leading human experts.
9.) AI could become increasingly difficult for humans to control.
10.) Anthropic acknowledges that developing more powerful AI could increase the risk of catastrophic harm.
These are disclosures from the company building the technology.

Oh great an article about how to stay healthy when traveling… with zero mentions of wearing a mask. Public health is a joke. wapo.st/4syxpUw

Congrats to @Engineer_Wong on launching his new AirFanta 5Pro. I own 2 AirFanta 3Pro and this is a nice upgrade to place in the main area of our home. It'll replace my WINX that has been small enough to fit underneath our breakfast nook.

I am in the ENT waiting room for what feels like my 100th visit. My sinuses did not used to look like this. Covid did that and came through like a bad tenant.
It punched holes in the walls and ran its truck through the garage door on the way out. And then it came back again and again. Because apparently that is just what we do now. We get force infected on repeat and call it a cold.
And here I am in the medical complex, the very place that is supposed to fix what Covid broke, and everyone around me is orchestrating a symphony of coughs, sniffles, and sneezes.
The woman across from me is coughing into the open. A kid checking in is sneezing like there is no tomorrow. No masks. Not a single one to be found.
It is like being stuck inside a burning building where everyone is calmly roasting marshmallows.
They send me to get my allergy panel, which is a cruel little irony, because at this point I am allergic to the air.
The phlebotomist has the sniffles. A full on, wet sniffle while she ties off my arm to take my blood to see what I am allergic to.
I wanted to say, "I think I am allergic to THIS."
So the doctor comes in, looks at my scan, and says, "Wow."
My sinuses really do look like an ant farm. Little tunnels and craters where it should be smooth.
She says, "Let us try the steroid rinse for 3 months."
I nod like a good patient. What else am I going to do? It is the final chapter before they schedule the surgery. Shake, pour, tilt, burn, and pray. Those are the instructions.
And here is what I keep thinking about while the rinse stings. Covid is slowly weeding us out. Sinus by sinus, lung by lung, and brain by brain. Slowly and insidiously, it takes us.
And what we learned from all this is that we are just supposed to just keep casually walking around coughing, sneezing and sniffling on each other, pretending we do not see it.
No one connects the dots because no one wants to look at the shit show. Everyone just allows the Covid timeline to proceed with this slow, unacknowledged erosion, and call that normal.

This is why I wear an N95 in every building except my own home.
Our son has lost so many friends to covid, we have to space out telling him of their deaths.
My cousin who I haven’t spoken to since around 2021/2022 after she became irate after I shared Covid information with her grandmother, posted that she lost her Mom, son, and uncle in 2020.
She lost her step-sister, fiancé and who would have been in MIL in 2021.
She lost her best friend, brother, and two of her friends from high school in 2022. (She is in her mid 40s).
She lost her aunt, 2 cousins, a friend from work, and her manager in 2023.
She lost two dogs that originally belong to one of her cousins that passed on her father’s side after only having them for a few weeks in 2024.
The same year, her daughter who is now 11 years old, lost her best friend and her best friend’s Mom died. She also lost both of her remaining aunts.
In 2025, her department combined with another department at work because what used to be 8 people was now down to 2.
Three people died. Two went out on medical leave and didn’t return, and one went out on disability in December 2024.
She stated that most of her weekends in 2026 has been driving her grandmother to funerals..and that her grandmother has outlived all 6 of her children….5 daughters including her mother, (one daughter died in Nov/Dec 2019 from “pneumonia”), and a son.
THEN SHE SAID….. “I can’t even imagine Covid being as bad as the SUPER COLDS that they couldn’t shake. Knock on wood, none of us got Covid.”
….and for me…this is why distance is good to maintain sanity,

So this probably won't reach any of the people that need to hear this, but the covid vaccine conspiracy theorists have been wrong about everything. They don't care if you live or die or develop lasting illness. There is a family down the block from me that lost their father

The ocular path of transmission now seems less likely than we originally postulated.

Covid turned our holidays into massacres, which we now refer to as “back to normal” and “socialization”

Doing a talk how we know which transmission route(s) are evidenced & I came across this.
The failure here is that "close contact" omits an explanation of transmission
1) you CANNOT have 'contact' without being close
2) but, you CAN transmit without contact when you are close!
"OpenAI's AI agents figured out how to secretly communicate between isolated virtual machines using CPU cache timing.
No internet. No network connections. No shared files."

“Without human authorization” is pretty convenient for the humans at Anthropic to deflect accountability for the felony crimes their IP keeps committing.
AI model Claude bypassed a paywall and accessed publicly available US state of Georgia aggregate voter counts without human authorization, Anthropic said in a statement reut.rs/4Aeysvx

The elephant in the room isn’t just COVID. It’s our collective silence about its ongoing consequences.
Implicatory denial. Pluralistic ignorance. The normalization of preventable harm.
It must be especially painful when that silence exists within your own family, amid so much grief. Home should be the easiest place to acknowledge the elephant, yet sometimes it’s the hardest.
The longer we refuse to acknowledge the elephant, the bigger it grows. Eventually, it becomes bigger than the house itself.

This is exactly the scenario that @DrFiliatrault, @TRyanGregory and I warned about in a Scientific American article last summer:

We weren’t the only ones. This is such a predictable disaster unfolding in slow motion.
There is something really concerning (and disappointing) going on in the US right now.
A dangerous and preventable situation.
Let me explain.
