New editorial on symptom decoding study in DBS patients with Parkinson disease by the group of @HirschmannJan. They found that cortical brain signals significantly improve machine learning performance compared to subthalamic activity alone!
[Parkinson’s disease (PD)] Neumann: "Combining cortical brain signal recordings with subcortical stimulation informed by machine learning algorithms may provide the necessary foundation for a neuroprosthetics approach to deep brain stimulation in PD."
