Clean energy transition must be people-centred, intentionally integrating the voices, needs and leadership of PWDs in energy planning, policy and implementation. We must create systems where accessibility, affordability and awareness go hand in hand.

Today, we launched the #KaaSafeMtaani campaign, a bold step towards reshaping Kenya’s energy safety landscape.
Backed by the 2025 Energy and Petroleum Safety Awareness Survey, the data reveals a critical gap, nearly 40% of Kenyans feel inadequately informed about safe energy practices, with rural areas disproportionately affected.
As we move towards a cleaner, more efficient energy future, we must prioritize safety at every level from households to industry. Energy safety is not just a policy issue; it’s a shared responsibility.
This campaign will drive nationwide community engagement, safety training, and policy-level conversations all aimed at reducing accidents and building a safety-first culture in the energy sector. Let’s work together government, industry, and citizens to power a safer, smarter Kenya.
