A 39-year-old man died after recovery agents of a finance company allegedly knocked him off his moving motorcycle while attempting to seize the vehicle over unpaid loan instalments in Nelamangala.
The deceased, Murali, a resident of T. Begur in Nelamangala taluk, succumbed to his injuries at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru late on Saturday (October 31, 2026) night.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on October 28 when Murali was travelling from Nelamangala to his native village. Near Budihalu, the three agents allegedly intercepted his motorcycle.
Murali reportedly told the agents that he would stop the vehicle ahead and continued riding. However, the agents allegedly chased him and kicked the moving motorcycle, causing him to lose control and fall on the road. He sustained serious injuries.
His wife, Lalitha, rushed him to Victoria Hospital for treatment. Murali was already suffering from kidney failure and undergoing regular dialysis after both his kidneys had failed. His existing health condition, coupled with the injuries sustained in the incident, reportedly complicated his treatment. He succumbed late on Saturday night despite medical intervention.
Accusing the recovery agents of being directly responsible for her husband’s death, Lalitha and other family members demanded action against those involved.
The Nelamangala Rural police have registered a case. The police have formed a special team to trace and arrest the three accused agents.

🚨 BREAKING: RECOVERY AGENTS NOW WANT HR TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST EMPLOYEES OVER PERSONAL LOANS?
A distressed borrower has shared disturbing evidence of alleged loan recovery harassment.
An email sent to his workplace asks HR to:
❌ Flag the employee as a DEFAULTER.
❌ Initiate recovery or legal proceedings.
❌ Take immediate action against him.
The sender even raises questions about his salary payments!
The borrower also alleges threats of home visits, emails to senior management and circulation of MORPHED PICTURES.
He reports an APR of approximately 450% on his loan.
LET THAT SINK IN.
A person borrows money privately.
Someone claiming to represent the lender contacts his employer.
His financial difficulties are exposed at work.
His professional reputation and livelihood are put at risk.
SINCE WHEN DID HR BECOME A LOAN RECOVERY DEPARTMENT?
@RBI @FinMinIndia Which lender authorised this communication? Was the sender a legitimate recovery agent? Were the borrower’s financial details disclosed without lawful justification?
And to the employer: Please protect your employee from unverified third-party demands.
A borrower must repay legitimate dues.
But NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DESTROY SOMEONE’S CAREER TO RECOVER A LOAN.
We are seeking identification of the lender and verification of the allegations.
