On @Stacks , every balance and payment is public. @terlosonstacks is a shielded pool where you can hold and move STX, sBTC and USDCx privately.
Amounts, senders and recipients are hidden. Every private transaction carries a ZK-STARK proof, and the Clarity contract checks that proof on Stacks itself, in the same transaction that moves the money. There's no trusted setup and no off-chain verifier.
๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ'๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ถ๐'๐ ๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐น๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ.
The proof system is ZK-STARKs, built with Winterfell in Rust. We use FRI with 104 queries and 16 bits of grinding, which gives 102 bits of proven soundness.
The math runs over the Goldilocks field, which fits inside Clarity's 128 bit integers. Inside the circuits we hash with RPO, and on chain the verifier uses Keccak-256, which Clarity supports natively.
There are ten circuits covering shield and withdraw, transfer, split and merge, each for STX and for SIP-010 tokens. The verifier is written in Clarity, and a full private transaction uses under 5 percent of a Stacks block.
The prover is Rust compiled to WebAssembly, so proofs are made in your own browser and your keys never leave your device. The build is reproducible, and the app refuses any prover that doesn't match its published hash.

Spending is. A note can only be spent by proving you know a hash preimage, using a hash-based proof system, so even a future quantum computer can't spend your notes. That's the part holding your money.
Two things are still classical. Note memos are encrypted with X25519, so a future quantum computer could read old memos, though it still couldn't spend anything. And Stacks accounts and governance keys use elliptic curve signatures, like the rest of Stacks. The memo format has room for a post-quantum layer once there's one we trust.
Terlos is live on Stacks mainnet as a beta. It hasn't been independently audited yet, so deposits are capped and daily withdrawals are limited. Start small.

PRIVACY ON STACKS UNLOCKED
A few months ago we started working on something @Stacks has never had, a native privacy layer. After a lot of research and a proof of concept, it's now live on mainnet as a beta. It's called ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐.
We started with ๐๐ธ-๐ฆ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐๐. The circuits worked, but we kept running into the same problems. Clarity has no elliptic curve pairing operations, so the chain can't verify a SNARK itself, and the proof had to be checked off chain by something the contracts simply trusted. For a pool holding people's money, that wasn't acceptable. SNARKs also need a trusted setup, where a leaked secret means forged proofs, and pairings won't survive a quantum computer.
That pushed us to look for the most secure option that could live entirely on Stacks, and that's how we ended up with ๐ญ๐-๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐. A STARK only needs hashing and field arithmetic, so there's no trusted setup and its security rests on hash functions that hold up against quantum attacks. The open question was whether a full STARK verifier could even run inside Clarity. It can. We use the ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ so the math fits in Clarity's 128 bit integers, Keccak for the commitments, and FRI tuned to 102 bits of proven security. A private transaction uses under 5 percent of a Stacks block, and the proof is verified on Stacks in the same contract call that moves the funds. If the proof is wrong, the transaction fails. Nobody off chain gets a say.
Stacks Shield became Terlos, and Rust carries most of it. The prover is written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, so proofs are made in your own browser and your keys never leave your device. The circuits are in Rust too, and a Rust copy of the Clarity verifier generates part of the on chain code and the test vectors, so the prover and the contracts can't drift apart. The build is reproducible, and the app refuses any prover that doesn't match its published hash. Moving to Rust and STARKs took proving from around 6 minutes to under 6 seconds.
Terlos gives Stacks native shielded addresses and viewing keys. You can create as many addresses as you like and nobody can link them, and a viewing key lets a shop confirm it was paid without being able to touch the funds. You can send, split, merge and withdraw $STX, $sBTC and $USDCx privately, and relayers submit for you so your Stacks address never shows up.
The wallet is fully self custodial. It's created from 24 backup words on your own device and sealed with your password in your browser. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for, and your keys and notes never touch our servers. Only a proof made with your keys can spend your funds, so nobody can move or freeze them, us included. Your words restore the wallet anywhere, and that also means they're the only way back in, so write them down and keep them safe.
Our first pool is called Zion. All three assets share one note tree, so everyone hides in the same crowd, and every new user makes it stronger for the rest.
Zion runs as a beta with deposit caps, daily withdrawal limits, a 3 of 5 multisig and a 48 hour timelock on risky changes. It hasn't been independently audited yet, so please start small.
The SDK is on npm under @terlos, and the docs and whitepaper are public.

How Alice privately sent 1 STX to Bob with STX Shield
๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ 1 ๐ฆ๐ต๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ
Alice deposits 1 STX into the STX Shield pool. Her STX is converted into a private note protected by a zero-knowledge proof.
๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ 2ย ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ
Inside the shielded pool, Alice transfers ownership of the note to Bob. No STX moves onchain, and no observer can tell Alice sent anything or that Bob received it.
๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ 3ย ๐ช๐ถ๐๐ต๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐
Bob redeems the note to a brand new wallet. He receives 0.997 STX after the 0.3% fee, and the stscks blockchain cannot link this withdrawal back to Alice's original deposit.
๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐
1. Alice shields 1 STX into the privacy pool.
2. Ownership of the shielded note is transferred privately to Bob.
3. Bob withdraws the funds to a fresh address.
4. Every step is verified by zero-knowledge proofs through zkVerify.
5. The blockchain sees deposits and withdrawals, but it cannot connect Alice to Bob or link the deposit to the withdrawal.
๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐๐น๐
Alice successfully pays Bob privately while preserving transaction privacy and cryptographic security.

There are 365+ markets on Hyperliquid. BTC, forex, commodities, stocks, memecoins. Something new to trade every day for a year.
But the app you use decides what you pay per trade. Some charge DOUBLE the fees for access to the exact same orderbook.
Fees shouldn't stand between you and a diversified portfolio. Hedge, expand or double-down with conviction without overpaying.

That's true; $STX staking yields are going up since PoX-5 activation.
From PoX-5 staking cycle 140 to cycle 145, we've seen a net increase of ~5 BTC, representing ~190% growth in staking yield.
Also, STX price is going up.
Tomorrow we are discussing that in the @Stacks DeFi Show with data.
Be there ๐
STX staking yields are climbing on @Stacks.
Tomorrow's Stacks DeFi Show covers what is driving them, and builders from across the ecosystem join to share what they are shipping.
