Best summation right here👇
This Haley Stevens thing reminds me that gas in Michigan is $4.57 and diesel is $6.68 because the President started a war with Iran that Mike Rogers has been wanting for his entire professional life.

This is a hallmark of fascism, by the way. Where you blame a group of people for the ills of society and make it acceptable to attack them. Like in the case of the Nazis, that group is the Jews. It leads to real violence against people.
If, God forbid, Abdul loses, this will be a watershed moment in Democratic politics. The fire will rise. It's over. People will be radicalized against corporate, pro-Israel Dems. There will be a reckoning. If, when, he wins, it will be a watershed moment. And that reckoning will still come.

This is correct. I critique El-Sayed daily. I think he’s remarkably dangerous for our party. I would never endorse a Republican.
I am a common-sense Dem I am NOT a DSA supporter I am an unapologetic Zionist Jew I am a union member I am attacked by some Ds bc I believe in bipartisanship & compromise I am not endorsing Ds just bc they are Ds BUT none of that means I would EVER endorse an R.

Mallory McMorrow, quoted by The Washington Post “Michigan could very well be the state that flips control of the Senate. …That’s what’s on the line. Nothing less. And Michiganders know it.” “Cut the shit. Lock in. Knock doors. Get out the vote. That’s it.” Link to article: washingtonpost.com/politics/…

As I explain in this piece, Stevens staff was there at the Clyburn event waiting for her to arrive when they found out she'd shown up at the Rogers event.

Even for what Haley Stevens is trying to do, this is incoherent and insane. If Abdul were to lose, now *you* get blamed instead of him/progressiveism/whatever. So, instead, we just need Abdul to win so she can be forgotten forever.

I don’t think I ever remember a race like the Michigan Senate race where literally everyone involved looks terrible. El Sayed sucks, Stevens sucks, Rogers sucks.

This is a despicable betrayal from Rep. Stevens. Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed, because we know he will fight for the economic interests of working families in Michigan, unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool of Donald Trump and billionaire donors.

I don’t know what this is. But hard to believe it’s a principled stand given what Mike Rogers is running on and what Stevens campaign platform was. Seems less an endorsement of Rogers’ staunchly conservative politics than petty squabbling with El-Sayed.
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.

"Fewer than half of Americans know that Israel is a democracy that holds elections. Just 27% know that Arab citizens vote in those elections, and only 21% know that Arab citizens serve in Israel’s parliament. These are basic facts about a country that occupies an extraordinary amount of space in American political debate... Antisemitism has survived for centuries by reinventing itself. It absorbs the grievances of the moment, borrows the language of prevailing political movements, and finds new ways to make old prejudices seem reasonable. Today, it has the added advantage of an information ecosystem that rewards outrage, amplifies conspiracy theories, and discourages reflection." My latest in @eJPhil ejewishphilanthropy.com/amer…

Somewhere in Google's workforce, there's a jaded low-level employee barely hanging on who's been muttering "I told them the AI summary would lead to fewer people clicking on ads and they DIDN'T FUCKING LISTEN" since the stock dropped.

Things continue to get worse because bean counters like this have taken over most if not all leadership positions in sports. “Actually the data on audio streaming shows us that…” No one cares. No one cares. Not everything gets to be a transaction. Baseball on the radio is the Costco $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. It’s a loss leader that keeps people engaged on their fishing boat, in the tractor during harvest season, on a long road trip. Color me shocked that the former president of the worst run team in big four sports thinks this way. It’s no wonder the Marlins never cut through if this is how their leadership thinks.

Lying about Israel and then saying you're not antisemitic because you're just criticizing Israel is blatantly antisemitic because you are actually calculating how to introduce antisemitism into mainstream politics under the cover of propaganda. This is Goebells kind of stuff.

The goal of both antisemitism and Islamophobia is to sow distrust and division and tear communities apart — and the past 24 hours in Michigan are a textbook example. Just depressing all around.

You can’t call out Stevens’ behavior without acknowledging that Uygur and Piker, El Sayed’s supposed allies, are causing him irreparable damage right now.

i’m glad we’re recognizing baseball radio as the american ceremonial staple it is but like guys some of us do actually want to know what’s happening in a baseball game while we’re driving a car. it very much still has a use case.
Strongly disagree. Baseball on the radio is so purely American that it should be preserved even if the audience is relatively small, because it’s just something that should always be there.

Yeah, I think this is not really the point. Winning Michigan is an accomplishment that does mean something. It means something different in a D+8 environment than it does in an R+1 environment. The size of the win relative to the environment is what tells us something.
Dem strategist Lis Smith argued a potential El-Sayed win in Michigan doesn’t prove progressives can win elsewhere. “Michigan isn't everywhere,” she told @DashaBurns. “If you can win in Michigan, you can win in Michigan.” Listen to #TheConversation: politi.co/4BAXcze
