It is absolutely outrageous that @Janeese4DC & @charlesallen needlessly blocked a valuable, non-invasive means of cracking cold cases for rape, potentially denying victims with the ability to finally achieve closure & get justice.

Of the 2,502 people arrested in NYC for fare beating so far this year, 1,136 — or just over 45% — had open arrest warrants at the time.
The warrants were for charges including weapon possession, felony assault, and drugs.
More than 200 fare beaters were carrying deadly weapons, including 13 guns and over 200 knives.

Either MPD made a bad arrest, botched the case or USAO let someone go free to allegedly kill someone.

Lots of local activists celebrating or dunking on Walmart closing news yesterday. Not good overall for residents here. People seem to think there is a waiting list for businesses to open and that central planners at the mayors office & council decide what businesses to "put there". No! There needs to be demand from businesses. No chance that space is filled.

There have been ZERO hearings on carjackings in the @councilofdc in 2022. Instead they’ve had hearings on more important issues like banning gas leaf blowers and removing school resource officers from every public school. Shameful.
