I agree with this initiative, Alex. Then Zohran Mamdani can run too and clean Moreno’s clock
NOTE TO SELF: After the Election, start a new project to change the U.S. Constitution so one day @berniemoreno can run for President! 😂😉 He is THE BEST! Give ‘em hell Senator! Love that guy….

I *hate* classist pieces of shit like this.
Workers fall from scaffolds, workers die from exposure to toxins, and our lives pass while we grow tired and broken. Have you even worked a real job in your life? Doesn't sound like it.
Replying to @JohnRad15
Arguably the dumbest thing I've read today. Workers risk nothing. They work for a check. If they don't like it, they are free to leave anytime. No one gives a shit if they stay or go because no one relies on them for anything.
This is the second electrical-related short story I read on here today, and I’m glad it found me.
My dad dabbled in extracurricular electrical work and also had an anarchist mentality, especially when it came to helping out the neighbors.
'My dad was a master residential electrician for forty years, but he padlocked our basement breaker panel with a heavy brass Master Lock and kept the key on his truck ring.
He told my brother and me that if a breaker ever tripped, we were to call him at the shop—never touch the box.
Last November, eight months after his funeral, the washing machine popped the basement circuit.
I bought an angle grinder, cut through his padlock, and pulled the metal dead-front cover off the panel.
Every breaker in that box was wired to code with clean 12-gauge Romex.
Except breaker number 18.
It wasn't wired to anything in our house. It was back-fed from a heavy direct-burial cable running out through the foundation sill, pulling 240 volts of continuous live power from an underground line that didn't show up on any township utility map.
Every other breaker had a label in my father's block capitals. KITCHEN. DRYER. SUMP. FURNACE. Eighteen was blank. It was a double-pole, fifty amps, and the handle was in the on position like it had been there for years.
I reset the washer circuit. The machine ran fine. Then I stood there with the grinder still ticking as it cooled, looking at that cable. Black, thicker than my thumb, going through a hole in the sill plate that somebody had sealed neatly with foam and caulk. My father didn't do sloppy work, even on things he didn't want found.
I called Gil Brandt. He'd worked with my dad for twenty-two years and came out Saturday after lunch. First thing he asked was whether I'd shut the main before I pulled that cover.
"No."
"Don't do that again."
He looked at 18 for a while. I said it looked back-fed. He shook his head. "Back-fed means power's coming in. This is going out. That's a feeder. Whatever it's running, it's not in this house."
He crouched at the sill and read the stamp on the jacket. "UF-B. Four-gauge copper, four conductors. Two hots, a neutral, a ground." He ran his thumb along it. "A fifty-amp breaker only needs six. He went up a size. That's for a long run, so the voltage doesn't sag at the far end." He let it go. "Whatever else this is, he did the install right."
He clamped a meter on one of the hots. Nine amps on one leg, six on the other. Then something cycled off and it dropped to three on the first leg and almost nothing on the second. "Heater," he said. "Baseboard, probably. Then there's something running underneath it, on one leg only, all the time. Somebody's got a panel on the other end of this."
I asked where. He said the township map wouldn't help me. Township maps show public lines, water, sewer, the co-op's poles. A private feeder on private ground wouldn't be on any of them. Ohio 811 wouldn't mark it either, same reason. "You find it by tracing it."
He had a tone transmitter with a clamp, so we didn't have to kill the breaker. He wouldn't let me touch it anyway. We walked the signal across the backyard, along the fence line, and under it. The line kept going through the hedgerow into the lot behind ours, about 380 feet from the sill, to the side wall of a gray cape house. I'd known it my whole life. Mrs. Ostrander's.
The meter base on her wall was empty. The socket had a plastic cover on it and a faded co-op tag zip-tied through the lugs. Gil read the date on it out loud. 2014.
"They pulled her meter," he said. "That's a disconnect. Failed service entrance, probably. When that happens, you don't get reconnected until it's fixed and inspected."...

He’s a US citizen, not that it would be okay if he wasn’t a US citizen. They left him on the side of the road with no medical care. He needed surgery. I already cried about this. Now I’m just mad”

Breaking: Donald Trump was "an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s,” according to a report issued today by Dems on the House Judiciary Committee. The report includes one new rape allegation against Trump, and calls for a special investigation of the Trump administration's cover-up of Epstein's crimes.
Rodney Creech, Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump, Dennis Hastert, Roy Moore, RJ May, Wesley Dingus, Mike Follmer, Justin Eichhorn, Mike Caruso, Joel Greenberg, should I keep going? Stop being pedos and “the left” (aka, people who can read) won’t call you pedos
It’s a new talking point from the left and it’s damn disgusting. They love to call us “pedophiles.” The press lets them with no outrage or questioning. Ever. I was a prosecutor and a judge. I handled cases with real-life pedophiles. They are disgusting creatures who prey on our most vulnerable. I prosecuted them and locked them up. I am also a committed son, dad, husband, brother, and uncle to a family I adore. Yet as a GOP activist/leader, first-rate clowns like this nasty phony-baloney @SherrodBrown call anyone on the GOP “pedophiles.” He can go and…🤬🤬🤬

The GOP's last ditch efforts for the midterms:
- trot Trump, who the country hates, out on stage around the country to talk about men's asses
- accept $500 million from Elon Musk, who the country hates
- call a child victim of sexual abuse a liar
- help Putin kill Ukrainians

it might sound woo woo, but radiating positive energy is the closest thing to magic i've found. tip generously, compliment strangers, share your knowledge with no expectation of anything in return. give like you have more than enough, and eventually you’ll find that you do.

You work hard, become a valedictorian, captain several sports teams, graduate from medical school, earn a PhD, and serve your community, yet you’re still labeled a terrorist simply because you’re Arab and Muslim. An immigrant from Uganda gets elected mayor, and the media spends days amplifying racists accusing him of being responsible for 9/11. An immigrant from Somalia runs for office, wins her election, and gets targeted for denaturalization simply because she’s a Muslim woman. It’s pretty sick. No level of accomplishment or assimilation will ever exempt you from bigotry when dehumanizing Arabs and Muslims is how they justify endless wars and atrocities in the Middle East.

In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here.
A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy.
So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years.
The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip.
I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform.
Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post.
