Have you heard that capitalism is absolutely smashing poverty? Have you seen this graph? The line goes down impressively. Capitalism is not perfect, but at least things are going in the right direction. Just give it some more time. Right? WRONG.

Capitalism makes a specific mode of property called "private property" which is a silly name because regular property was private before it, but this new term meant *unlimited* land ownership with no respect to a commons or the needs of others to also have land.
Your quotes make a strong case — for widespread property. The peasant with a cow and a few acres was free because he had something of his own. And enclosure was Parliament redistributing land. So is the problem capitalism, or the state handing land to the well-connected?

Ha! I love winning by showing the ignorance of the other person. Did you think 1952 was the end of the story? Do you know what happened in 1954 without Googling?
Huh, so right about when wealth per capita fell off this cliff? Interesting fact to use if you’re trying to support your idea as a solution.

Free Fergie Chambers and god damn the evil US empire.
🚨 “Chambers’s legal team discovered that [Fergie’s] phone was no longer in the custody of the national court in Madrid and had been turned over to the FBI…” Where is the law? Apparently, no where to be found in this case of political persecution. theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

Fergie Chambers is a great guy and doing good things, and he should be free. Something about your tone tells me you don't like him and you're on the side of Zionists and capitalists so everything you say should be read as opposite of truth.
In today’s Vatnik Soup, we introduce James “Fergie” Chambers, an American communist, tankie and heir to the Cox fortune. He’s best known for bankrolling revolutionary causes, cheering Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and supporting Hamas. 1/24

Free Fergie Chambers!!!!! 80-something days in prison now. Free him, Spain!
Solidarity is not a crime, it's an obligation. It's a duty. Fergie Chambers is in prison in Spain facing US extradition and persecution for rising to the duty of solidarity. No the extradition of Fergie Chambers. #freefergie #freefergiechambers

Nope, it's just plain wrong and it's a ploy to ascribe bad motivation to people who critique capitalism. Capitalism is slavery and wishing to escape it is not "envy" but the very noble human desire for freedom. It sickens me every time someone acribes "envy" to anti-capitalists.
No, it's completely accurate to assert that. Socialism is built 100% on envy. Nothing else. A voluntary trade of labor for money is, by definition, not theft. You're just deluded by your envy.

Anyone feel like telling JimBob the capitalism defender my answer, since he replied and then blocked me? My answer is: Been working 37 years but I know you have no actual arguments because capitalism is class slavery and is indefensible using rational arguments.

The minimum wage discourse is something else. Conservatives will really say things like, “Learn economics. Capitalism requires a massive supply of desperate, exploited workers drowning in poverty to keep commodity prices low for the wealthy, and that’s a good thing.”

dude, the fact of being alive as a human allows people to do things and to strive and to trade and to produce products of value and such things, and capitalism removes this for most people and keeps us trapped in wage work to survive for most of our lives generally

Normal person: *observes unnecessary suffering in the world*, perhaps we should improve society somewhat Capitalist propagandists: Nuh uh! You pea-brained leftists. These are the thoughts of your superiors that you are simply repeating. The unnecessary suffering of billions is the best we can do. *brings out charts showing why the poors should die*

People created the technology and built the infrastructure. Capitalism caused a tiny few to be obscenely rich. It caused the working people to never be able to rest of have fulfilling lives with meaning. It's class slavery to the wage.
Replying to @JohnRad15
Capitalism created the technology and built the infrastructure. Capitalism created the middle class and continues to expand it. It made servants into entrepreneurs. It is the single greatest pathway to prosperity ever

Yes, capitalism didn't invent work or wages but no, capitalism keeps wages LOW! What capitalism invented is a way to force work at low wages from the people by blocking our land access so we have no other way to live than to sell our labor and be market dependent for land access.
Replying to @JohnRad15
Capitalism did not invent work or wages. Both existed long before capitalism emerged. The relationship between people who work and those who pay for their labor goes back centuries. What capitalism did was transform that relationship by creating the conditions for multiple employers to compete for workers and offer better wages. Neither capitalism nor socialism can abolish work, because work is a fundamental human necessity. We will always need to produce goods and services to meet our needs. The difference lies in the conditions under which we work, how much we produce, how much we earn, and how much freedom we have to choose our employers. And let me remind you that in Cuba, government wages, when converted into dollars at the informal exchange rate, can amount to just a few dozen dollars a month. That reality demonstrates that having a job does not guarantee prosperity. Capitalism didn’t invent work. What it did was expand employment opportunities, increase productivity, and improve the living standards of millions of workers.

I am in reality and that backhanded insult is unwelcome. The thing is --- change the system. Don't force anything. Let people be free to not sell labor and then wages would go up and things would reorganize as if people actually fucking matter.
Replying to @JohnRad15
99.9% of companies are small not large. So, I don't know how you can force companies to spend more on employees and not create more inflation with less stability. There is a reality and then there's wishful thinking. I prefer to live in reality and adjust accordingly.

What's "too much" has to do with power relations. If the workers really are there voluntarily and they could opt out from the whole system for real, then sure whatever. But it's not that way. Capitalism forces us to sell labor for whatever we can get which is typically low wages.
So a 50% profit margin is too much? Is that the number you're giving?

Your ongoing psy-attack attempts are really something, showing the nature of propaganda, trying to make me feel ashamed for speaking about capitalism in less than glowing terms. You're an agent for the capitalist kings. Traitor to the good humans.
It’s all true. You don’t like it because you have a poor education combined with an immature world view and a psychological glitch that has you constantly looking for a parental replacement to care for you.

That is just so wrong and also the word "socialism" is undefined, but sharing the land so people aren't landless in large numbers is a good thing for people, and it is antithetical to capitalism, which is class slavery by land regime. Bring it to specifics, not just words.
Replying to @dgiff__
“The fundamental error of socialism is anthropological in nature. Socialism considers the individual person simply as an element, a molecule within the social organism, so that the good of the individual is completely subordinated to the functioning of the socio-economic mechanism. Socialism likewise maintains that the good of the individual can be realized without reference to his free choice, to the unique and exclusive responsibility which he exercises in the face of good or evil. Man is thus reduced to a series of social relationships, and the concept of the person as the autonomous subject of moral decision disappears…” Pope JPII

Notice how Devin is being swarmed by a whole bot army when he speaks against capitalism? That's the structure of capitalism doing this to him. The capitalists own this website and create fake dialog swarms to try to make us feel small and stupid for being against class servitude.

The biggest contradiction you can be as a human is uber capitalist and a follower of Jesus btw .. capitalism goes against EVERYTHING he taught as it pertains to how to treat and love your neighbor

Capitalism is class servitude and it is always imposed by force, the massive violence is a clue that it's not about liberty. How much liberty was afforded to Guatemala when they democratically decided to give land to landless people in 1952? Soon crushed by the 1954 CIA coup.
Replying to @dgiff__
No, it's the opposite. Capitalism is just liberty. The freedom to work together, to engage in free enterprise. Jesus often used capitalist principles in His teachings. He never once advocated for government action.
