Because the Titans just extended Jeffery Simmons, and the bonus money is paid, a team-friendly deal goes with him to Chicago ...
• $7.94 million for the rest of 2026.
• $26.95 million in cash for 2027.
• Signed through 2030 for a total $124.7 million.
I’m waiting to get clarification on all the financials but a HUGE difference in this trade and other similar deals (Micah Parsons and Khalil Mack), is that Simmons extension was already done this offseason. Titans will have to eat a substantial portion of dead cap to make this move. Mack & Parsons were traded and THEN the Bears/Packers had to sign the extension. Simmons’s salary for the Bears should seem like a bargain for the next 2-3 years.
The BTS of how the Jeffery Simmons deal came together, according to multiple league sources.
Having checked in with the Titans several times over the last couple weeks, the message was he’s not available. But this is a reminder, as one team said: “Everyone has a price.”
The reality is that these two GMs — Mike Borgonzi and Ryan Poles — know each other from their days together in Kansas City.
The Bears, according to multiple sources, made a push for DeForest Buckner as well, but didn’t feel comfortable with the draft capital Indy wanted.
Instead, they then pivoted to arguably the best DT in football in Simmons, with the feeling that he changes the entire complexion of the defense and makes them a bona fide Super Bowl threat.
After hearing from as many as 3 other teams inquiring on Simmons, the Titans simply felt that Chicago’s offer had reached a price where “we could not say no anymore.”
That’s when this thing became serious, and that’s why it happened so quickly.

Nahshon Wright hasn't formally requested a trade away from the Jets, but I'm told he wants to come back to the Bears, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation.
Could there be a reunion between the two sides?

The #Chiefs add Justin Tucker, the 7-time Pro Bowler, to their practice squad, the first time he's signed since serving a 10-game suspension for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
He's insurance for Harrison Butker, who has missed 15 total kicks since the start of the 2025 season.

Things could be heating up.
Ryan Poles seems extra busy lately. He hasn’t even checked the suggestion box in the break room for a few weeks. I noticed he also door dashed today. That only happens when he is tied up.
Going to be an interesting deadline.

The #49ers and #Bears are two teams prepared to be very active on the trade market and I’m expecting both teams to make some real noise.
