If this activates, a candidate can lose every single compact state and still walk away with all their electoral votes.

Who designed it?
Created by anchor baby brothers Akhil Amar and Vikram Amar, both born in the US to parents who were on temporary visas.
Illegal?
⢠Violates the Compact Clause: states cannot make agreements that change the federal system without congressional consent.
⢠Undermines Article II: each state is supposed to appoint its own electors, this hands that power to the national popular vote.
⢠Bypasses Article V, changes the presidential election system without a constitutional amendment.
⢠Cancels the votes of people inside the compact states whenever they disagree with the national result.
⢠All current members are Democratic led states, no Republican controlled state has joined.
Once activated:
A candidate can lose every participating state and still receive all their electoral votes.
