🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me.
The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated.
Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS.

Voters who Googled how to donate to Talarico got an AI answer that led them to give to someone else.
A network of fake news sites seeded messaging about state and local candidates that AI answers picked up on.

McMorrow’s already tweeted about this but she definitely got screwed by this hoax pollster. Check the original replies on the tweet!
Wedgewood was one of the "pollsters" that @AbdulElSayed leaned on to push back on criticisms that he was less electable in a general election-->
I was waiting for new Trump to find some recurring characters to replace Sleepy Joe and Shifty Schiff this campaign season, but I confess I never expected one of them to be . . . Ohio senator Jon Husted's ass.

Trump on Jon Husted: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

This is a very thoughtful piece by Sophie Gilbert, who is brilliant: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…
I wrote about the Cornell story (link in thread) and I think it's worth noting that the university conducted a very thorough Title IX investigation, interviewing witnesses as well as the accused, and reviewing the Snapchat thread. We don't just have Doe's lawsuit to go on.
Sub-optimal that Mothin Ali did not spot that this person's name is, essentially, "libtard" before hitting retweet. Or that they have described the Holborn & St Pancras vote as a "bi erection". A few subtle clues there.
TBH it seems perfectly reasonable to regrade Obama’s presidency more favourably in light of what his two successors managed with the office.
NEW: Footage and interviews reviewed by CNN repeatedly show Abdul El-Sayed — who is set to campaign with Barack Obama — calling Obama’s presidency a failure and that the country was no better off after eight years of his presidency. cnn.com/2026/10/07/politics/…
El-Sayed has got a lot better on this question: he's sanded off the edge of irritation at being asked, which I'm sure was therapeutic but made him sound tetchy. And he's campaigning with Obama! Unlike some other left candidates, he *really* wants to win.
El-Sayed turns a Hasan Piker question into a direct pitch to the FOX audience: The reason I had a conversation with him is same reason I have a conversation with you, I want to talk to folks out here Do you think you are better off now after two years of Donald Trump? Do you think your gas will get any less expensive? Is this war justifiable?
