Bad Brains 🧠 fans who also ♥️ Jazz? RUN- Do Not WALK (euphemistically, don’t be daft) and buy Darryl Jennifer’s new album The Weather Channel! I’m listening to Sacred Love (I would ♥️maestro @RonCarterBass’s take on this track) Darryl on upright bass (!)

*deep inhale* Guys, it’s The Beatles. Formulaic music that got hyped into genius status by a perfect storm of timing and savvy media, not actual skill. Expert exploitation of trends already pioneered by others. They’re a marketing phenomenon that got called the greatest because they sold a lot of records to herd-mentality teenagers, not because the music itself was ever the most advanced, demanding, or enduring rock ever made.

Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up. 33 years ago I predicted I would do something so cool my 1st X Wife Roseanne would be forced to say something almost nice about me. Hell finally froze over today.

Ultimately, it's no surprise I ran away to joing a comedy tour when I was 19. In the early '90s, a traveling carnival set up in a parking lot near my family's apartment in Queens. I was sixteen, miserable, and bored, so I skipped school, stole forty bucks from my dad's wallet, and went. By the end of the day, the guy running the basketball game had most of my money and had offered me a job. By the end of the weekend, I'd packed a bag and decided to run away with the carnival. New personal essay on my Substack. Link below.

I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.

That Steven Kwan catch is up there with Willie Mays in 1954.
