Sure, lining up your putt with a line doesn’t actually help you make putts…
But it also makes you slower.
So it makes you miss putts and play slower.
STOP LINING UP YOUR PUTTS WITH LINES.
LAB: LINE vs NO LINE
Our testing revealed that marking the golf ball with a line (like 70% of our test participants reported doing) provides ZERO statistical advantage whatsoever over putting with an unmarked ball.
Come to find out...putting with a line actually makes you worse from further distances
To us, this makes total sense.
If the line is off target by only a couple degrees, it can lead to a bigger miss the further you are away from the hole.
Thoughts?
Maybe i speak only for myself, but if we are going to bring online poker all the way back... a site needs to offer a gigantic 1r 3x turbo, a gigantic 3r, a gigantic 5r, and a gigantic 11r daily that gets even more massive on Sundays.
If you werent around for these on PokerStars I dont expect you to understand, but these were what made the game great back then. There are very little in lobbies now that can completely change a players trajectory, maybe the 33mb on wpt.

This guy is a flusher & quasi mythological figure. After beating Palmer he goes to America, makes money but never wins. Leaves Golf in the late 70s to run a charter boat business (I think) there's rumours that he's dead. Then rearrives at RM in 84 a beats everyone save Tom Watson
1966. Bob Stanton was 19. The Wills Masters was the second biggest tournament in Australia.
Arnold Palmer was the second best player in the world.
Bob beat him in a playoff.
18 years later he was 2nd to @TomWatsonPGA in the Aust Open at Royal Melbourne. Fabulous swinger.

I understand every NBA team loses games and you can’t go undefeated but this Portland performance against Memphis is just unacceptable.

This is how far The New Yorker, once the absolute pinnacle of non-fiction prose, has fallen. From recent article on microchips:
"There are a handful of truly monumental collective achievements in our history: Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Giza, and perhaps, if we’re being generous, the Roman aqueducts. Modern global civilization has made one contribution to this eternal pantheon. It is not the moon landing. It is the semiconductor supply chain."
Not the steam engine? Not the automobile? The printing press? The interstate highway system? Airplanes? Nuclear energy? The international space station? Television? The moving picture? How about oil rigs that dig 7 miles underneath the ocean? How about antibiotics?
NONE of these are as "monumental an achievement" as...Machu Picchu? Is Macchu Picchu even really that different than, say, Stonehenge, Easter Island, or Angkor Wat?
Of course the subtext here is that listing any of the above "achievements" would be to glorify the white man too much. He even throws a little extra shade on Rome "if we're being generous." Thank you so much for your generosity Gideon Lewis-Kraus! Could it really be that not one editor questioned your exhaustive and unimpeachable list of the 5 greatest things ever created by humanity? Do you realize how ignorant and chauvinistic such a list would be in literally any other context?
An absolute joke. Garbage in garbage out. It's time for a new age of magazines.

This is bad discourse. This specific example was one of the worst places to leave an approach shot on the green (above 5's pin at Merion which slopes away. The fix here is to not miss there and to hit the 96 ft green, as most other misses are a par. Just a horrendous example.

Hell yeah, just found the next thing we're going to BRING BACK
I have a map for this! When this was destroyed it’s estimated that as many as ONE FIFTH of the migratory birds of North America were lost. It contained the largest lake in Indiana, Beaver Lake, which had the colorfully named Bogus Island in the middle of it, a notorious hideout for ne’er-do-wells and outlaws.
And they still don’t even have a $10,000 PL Badugi PKO #unacceptable

The inflation part is wild. The 1970 ME was $5k then $10K every year after that. Thats a cool ~$80k buyin in today’s dollars. Insane.
