“How can Chelsea Comply with FFP rules?” A good question that @SwissRamble tried to answer in their Substack. I thought I, as an auditor, would go over their work and give some of my thoughts in the thread below Feel free to have a look if that kinda thing interests you at all
🧵 Swiss Ramble recently did a forecast on CFC’s financial performance for FY 23 & 24 and its impact regarding FFP & P&S I figured, as an accountant / auditor myself, I’d have a look and present some of my thoughts below /1

The only bright side I can conjure is that Alonso does not seem to rate Malo Gusto at all, so we may nearly be done with his shit

We always get fucked by injuries but this season is incredible given we don’t even have European football…
No Josh Acheampong.

I think this is a pretty fair reflection of my thoughts on the squad as it stands
hi friends !!! i made a little player sorter for funsies. just choose your fave of the 2 until it calculates your full ranking. so far i've built it for atleti, barça, arsenal, and bayern. and there are themes based on each team's kits !! play it on: player-sorter.github.io/

“Own goal from Malo Gusto, red card for Wesley Fofana” is such a neat way to sum up the last three seasons of Chelsea Football Club
Last time we were here: final day of 2025-26, lost 2-1, own goal from Malo Gusto, red card for Wesley Fofana, farewells from Enzo Fernandez, and incoming manager Xabi Alonso watched it on TV from Madrid as Sunderland secured Europe at the expense of Calum McFarlane’s Chelsea

This might be the only thing I ever wholeheartedly agree with Nick Fuentes about Cosigned on all of this lmao
There’s just no way around the fact that this is the funniest video of the entire year

This is probably an exaggeration actually, Lukaku comes to mind but that was from United’s physical regime as much as anything Fernandez has just markedly declined in the quality he was once best at, passing, for no obvious reason
Replying to @HistoryMatters7
I’ve seen players fall off cliffs before, Torres obviously. Players get career-changing injuries too, like Hudson-Odoi But Enzo is the first player I have seen who has gradually declined from initially being a world-beater as he should be coming into his prime

It’s fucking wild to see given how dross we were generally but Fernandez has never looked as good as he did under Graham Potter It has all genuinely been a slow decline since then

Idk which Enzo he's referring to but I feel completely the same irrespective of which one it is
Seeing Enzo fail makes me happy, more than you believe. Buzzing for Delap though— hope he kicks on from here.

Both his goals today were running on the counter, and we knew he could do that at Ipswich as well Its very different to play as a ST in possession against 6 defenders all in front of you Thats why it never worked with us but Forrest would still pay £45m, its not complicated
"His first home goal for Forest is a CRACKER!" Liam Delap doubles Nottingham Forest's lead 🔴

People absolutely should discuss their salaries The only people who benefit if you don't are management who can more easily exploit you and your colleagues
Silly idea & will increase burden on firms at time of a job crisis. Plus British people are squeamish re: chatting about their salaries - they'd rather discuss their sex lives than reveal what they earn.

Alex Scott got himself injured doing exactly what Cole Palmer avoided He played far too much over the last 15 months and this kind of attitude / entitlement is the reason so many player's bodies break down If coaches / pundits don't realise / respect that then they're clueless
No Cole Palmer in England squad. Right call by Thomas Tuchel. There was a lot of talk about Palmer possibly being recalled today to the England squad to face Croatia and Spain. In form for Chelsea, five goals, three assists, undeniable talent etc. Yet what happened in the last extended international break cast a cloud over Palmer. Commitment? Load management? What was going on? Going into the break, Palmer completed 90 minutes for Chelsea against Brentford but was then deemed not fit for England because he was playing with “discomfort and pain”, according to Tuchel. England’s head coach was clearly annoyed, said that Palmer “misses too many opportunities” and that others could seize the chance in Palmer’s absence. While England had four Nations League qualifiers, Palmer had a break and rehab. On resumption of club football, Palmer started Chelsea’s next PL games. His absence from the England squad is good news for Chelsea, of course, he has another break, can focus on them. Will Palmer be missed by England? They have strength in depth at 10. Morgan Rogers, Morgan Gibbs-White, Eberechi Eze and now Josh King with, obviously, Jude Bellingham undisputed first choice. #CFC #ENG

When I started working I used to get a bonus, thank you payment at Christmas, bank Holiday time and a half if worked and paid if taken off, canteen with a cooked lunch now all gone. Bosses constantly look for ways to give staff the bare minimum so should expect the same in return
