I’ve recently changed the name of my channel from NFT Pirates to Hunted & Hidden. I’ve thought about this change for a long time.
I still believe in digital collecting wholeheartedly. That hasn’t changed. In fact, I probably believe in it more strongly now than I did when I started NFT Pirates.
But there were two reasons I felt it was time for a change. First, the word “NFT” has developed a lot of negative connotations over the last few years. Some of that criticism was deserved, some of it wasn’t, but regardless of where you stand on NFTs, I didn’t want the name of the channel to define the boundaries of the conversation before the conversation even started. Second, I wanted the freedom to explore collecting. Comics, trading cards, physical memorabilia, digital collectibles, art, video games, rare and weird objects, historical artifacts, you name it.
And that is where I eventually landed on Hunted & Hidden. The name took me a surprisingly long time to figure out because I wanted it to represent something deeper than simply “collecting.” There is something incredibly primal about collecting. Humans have always hunted for things that were rare, beautiful, strange, valuable, meaningful or simply difficult to find. We hunt for things obsessively, acquire them, then store them away, sometimes forever. Sometimes we tell everyone about it, sometimes we tell almost nobody.
And perhaps most importantly, why do we sometimes become completely convinced that something has value long before everyone else sees it? We’ve all had those convictions. Sometimes we were right. Sometimes we were spectacularly wrong. I want to explore that. Not just whether something is worth money, but why we believed it would be. That is ultimately what I want Hunted & Hidden to be about. The psychology, history, culture and economics behind collecting.
And yes, I wanted to keep a little bit of the pirate spirit still alive. “Hunted & Hidden” still feels like lost treasure to me. Something out there is rare. Something is waiting to be discovered. Someone is hunting for it. Someone else may already have it hidden away. And somewhere between those two people is a story. That is the journey I’m starting now.
I’ll be launching a new podcast where I’ll be sitting down with collectors, creators and people deeply involved in the worlds we collect from.
Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to interview over 150+ incredible people including @FosterHilt @My_Collectables @MattMason @DavidYuNZ @Daniel00077 @willweinraub @Fro_Clover @Namecoast @tinasells4u @MrktSmart @SleepynComics @ComicsandCrypto @veve_official @OMIDailyBurn @ChrisCoffee @MrMC1_eth @VeVeMagic @SiliconSecure @LewisMorganUK @prezunlicensed @itswillmai @Legacyt02 @Robs_Stuff_YT @SuperstarMoney_ @DrOfStuff @johnnydunn777 @GrubahB @TapsTrades @CryptoKhaki @OrangeBagLady @claireCARG @_DaBull @RealRandyChavez @DeeOneAndOnly_ @SergioCollects @jan_collects @collectorsgd @MichaelCampa @VeVeViral @reverendalexg and lots of others!
Those conversations have been one of my favourite parts of this entire journey, and I want to take that idea even further.
My first episode will be all about Miles Morales. I have a friend here in Toronto who has something pretty ridiculous. He owns essentially every major Miles Morales key, including two of the 1:25 Ultimate Fallout #4 variants. We’re going to sit down and go through the collection, talk about why these books matter, how scarcity actually works in the physical market, and then compare that with scarcity in the digital collecting world.
And that is really where I want this podcast to live. At the intersection of physical and digital collecting. I don’t believe collecting has to be one or the other. Collecting is collecting. The medium changes. The technology changes. The way we display, trade and interact with objects changes. But the underlying desire doesn’t. I believe digital collecting is going to continue to evolve, and I think future generations are going to interact with digital ownership in ways that are difficult for us to fully understand today.
And VeVe will continue to be a backbone of that conversation for me because it is where a huge part of my own collecting journey began. I’m not walking away from digital collecting. I’m widening the lens. So this is the beginning of something new. A new name. A new podcast. A much bigger conversation about why we collect the things we collect. I hope you’ll come along for it. There are still a lot of things out there worth hunting. And a lot of things already hidden.

I can walk around life-size cars, explore their interiors, and ask the AI concierge to change the paint color with my voice.
Seeing virtual headlights shine onto my actual garage wall is still one of my favorite details.
The 3.0 update adds working headlights and rear lights, more natural door interactions, narration about each car’s history, smoother performance, and six new cars, including the Ferrari 550 Maranello, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and Lancia Stratos.
It’s pretty amazing! Every car company should give us this option.

Steamboat Willie Ultra Rare #1928 has officially entered my Digital Museum 🐭🚢🏛️
Mickey Mouse is arguably the most recognizable fictional character in the world. Owning this piece with the edition number matching his historic debut year means so much to me.
For me, this is the most historically significant Disney piece I could own, and one I’ve wanted for years. I’m incredibly proud to finally give it a home in my collection.

I always thought VeVe’s Disney licensed 3D Steamboat Willie would be a grail. 🛳️🎩 Mickey’s first appearance dates back to 1928, nearly a century of history captured as a first appearance animated digital collectible. 💙
🚨 RECORD SALE! 🚨
Steamboat Willie Ultra Rare Mint #1928 just sold on @StackRworld for 80.65 MILLION $OMI, currently worth approximately $25,000! 🤯
That shatters the $5,000 sale in 2024 for this same collectible and mint, a 5× increase!
Why #1928? Steamboat Willie premiered in 1928, introducing Mickey Mouse to the world. A historic mint honoring a historic debut. 🐭🚢

Sandy Munroe is an engineer that bought every Tesla that came out and made youtube videos breaking them down. He was so impressed by the engineering that he invested in Tesla stock because according to him "I'd be stupid not to."
In that same breath I'll say that after knowing what @veve_official offers, their position in the space, what @ecomi_ is rolling out, I'd have to be pretty stupid not to buy and hold the token. And anyone that doesn't have a meaningful amount will regret it soon
