The loss extended far beyond Dr. Sabatini. The whole country suffers when institutions entrusted with advancing knowledge reward the behavior of Sangeeta Bhatia. When I first became a tenure-track professor, I was quickly disillusioned by how little interest so many of my colleagues seemed to have in science. It shocked me because it made no sense. My love of science was why I took the job. I accepted much less pay and much longer hours because it gave me the chance to devote myself to something I loved. Many colleagues seemed far more interested in chasing prestige and stature within the university. I had assumed that people who made those sacrifices shared my priorities. Finding out otherwise was a profound disappointment. You can see those priorities on display in Sangeeta Bhatia’s messages. In the exchanges, you can see celebration of David’s destruction and no concern for the science and knowledge being lost. He was a scientist with far greater scientific accomplishments than hers. Yet, Bhatia was someone directing a cancer research center at MIT and treated as an authority on advancing cancer research. Dr. Sabatini’s work laid the foundations for a major field of drug development, including cancer therapies. Dismantling his laboratory meant interrupting the work of someone whose discoveries had already opened enormous scientific and therapeutic possibilities. None of that concern is visible in these exchanges. This is what happens when universities reward bureaucratic hacks who promote their personal causes, work their way into leadership, and use institutional authority to pursue those causes while the science suffers. Her titles remain, even as the institution decays. People involved in removing Dr. Sabatini retained their positions of stature or advanced. His laboratory was dismantled. Years of work were interrupted, scientific were lost, the careers of the poeple he was mentoring were disrupted and the people celebrating kept their authority. Meanwhile, MIT puts on a show claiming merit is its main focus while the place rots behind the veneer of excellence it displays to the public.
🚨 BOMBSHELL COURT EVIDENCE EXPOSES EXPLOSIVE PRIVATE MESSAGES REVEALING COORDINATION BETWEEN KRISTIN KNOUSE AND MIT PROFESSOR SANGEETA BHATIA IN THE DAVID M. SABATINI ORDEAL. 🔱 NEW REVELATION — Court evidence exposes how Knouse and Bhatia privately celebrated Sabatini’s removal, discussed the potential destruction of his professional career, and anticipated the revocation of his @MIT tenure. An 80-message exchange between Kristin Knouse and MIT Professor Sangeeta Bhatia, dated August 20–21, 2021, reveals their private reactions immediately following Whitehead Institute and HHMI's severance of ties with Professor @DMSabatini. The communications contain statements that deserve serious public examination. 🔴 1. “YOU DID IT” — “AND HE’S OUT.” On August 20, 2021, Bhatia congratulated Knouse: 🔴 “YOU DID IT. You crossed the finish line. It's out in the open. And you're not out in the open. And you're on the faculty. And he's out.” Knouse responded: 🔴 “You connecting me to Nancy [Hopkins]was the turning point. I will never forget that walk in Lexington.” 🔴 2. “THIS WAS THE OUTCOME I DREAMED OF.” The following morning, as news coverage spread, Knouse discussed the possibility of Sabatini losing his MIT tenure: 🔴 “Hard to imagine MIT will be left with any choice other than to revoke tenure.” Bhatia responded: 🔴 “You're right about tenure” She subsequently wrote: 🔴 “This was the outcome I dreamed of but NEVER certain I would get it.” Knouse also described her assessment of Whitehead's handling of the matter: 🔴 “And as skeptical as I was of Whitehead's end game, in the end I think the overall process was perfectly executed.” Bhatia expressed her approval of Whitehead Institute Director Ruth Lehmann: 🔴 “I'm proud of Ruth [Lehmann]” These exchanges occurred months before MIT's April 2022 tenure-revocation recommendation. 🔴 3. THE PROFESSIONAL CONSEQUENCES — BEYOND WHITEHEAD. The participants also discussed Sabatini's corporate affiliations and prospects for future employment. Knouse wrote: 🔴 “I know of one company already speaking with lawyers to remove him on grounds of morality clause.” She subsequently stated: 🔴 “Hard to imagine how he can be gainfully employed anywhere after the past 24 hours ...” These were not merely discussions about an institutional investigation. They extended to the potential consequences for Sabatini's career, tenure, corporate affiliations, and future livelihood. 🔴 4. THE DIVERSITY SURVEY AND PROTECTION FROM PUBLIC IDENTIFICATION. In another particularly consequential exchange, Bhatia wrote: 🔴 “Also the dei survey and subsequent investigation really protects you, which I love. There is not even a scent of whistleblower in all the press.” This statement takes on particular significance alongside the previously disclosed communications in which Knouse and Nora Kory discussed using Whitehead's diversity survey to conceal an investigation already under consideration (📑 see the original court evidence in the first comment below). 🔴 5. “WE DRANK CHAMPAGNE” — CELEBRATING AS THE NEWS SPREAD. Perhaps the most striking exchange appears on KK011419. On August 21, 2021, Knouse declared: 🔴 “I KNOW! Young people took down a relatively young king. Progress, progress, progress.” Knouse also wrote: 🔴 “Two other women who came forward and I drank champagne while watching the Tweets and articles roll in last night. It felt like campaign headquarters after an election victory. Really special.” Bhatia responded: 🔴 “That's awesome.” These exchanges reinforce the serious concerns about coordination and conflicts of interest raised by our previous disclosures. Their significance must be assessed alongside the full documentary record and the subsequent jury verdict. The scientific community deserves full accountability for any misconduct established by the evidence, including the roles of individuals who participated in or improperly influenced the institutional processes that subjected Professor Sabatini to a devastating ordeal and profoundly damaged his career. 📑 REVIEW THE ORIGINAL COURT EVIDENCE BELOW. 🔱 ScienceGuardians™ Legal and Investigative Team MORE COURT EVIDENCE. MORE REVELATIONS. STAY TUNED. ⚠️ @SciGuardians 🔱

In 2000, Israel offers a peace settlement, well within the world community's expected parameters, and the Palestinians responded with a violent Intifada. In 2005, Israel withdrew every soldier and civilian from Gaza, hoping that this would be the beginning of a peaceful relationship with Gaza that could develop into more general peace, formally or informally. The Palestinians responded by turning Gaza into an armed camp focused on destroying Israel, culminating in 10/7. Almost everyone I encounter on X: "Why won't Israel make peace with Palestinians?" And almost never, "Why won't the Palestinians make peace with Israel?"

Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday. "The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world. Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews. No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him. The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway. The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general. I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

This is the modern-day equivalent of a Medieval lord telling his serfs that the reason they are starving is because Jewish moneylenders stole all their money.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

When Jews were ethnically cleansed from Arab countries, vast amounts of land and property were taken from them. Land stolen is estimated at 100,000 km²..... 4.5 times the size of Israel. $263 billion in assets taken. 250k lived for years in tents and poverty, until they built.

For the 5.8 million people living in Gaza and the Palestinian controlled areas of Judea and Samaria, the vote you were supposed to have in 2009 that wasn’t even scheduled until 2026 has now been postponed. For the 2 million Arabs living in Israel, you will still get to vote as scheduled in 2 weeks, which will be the 10th election in Israel since the last one in Palestine.

I’ll never understand people who think you can start an unprovoked war by committing a massive atrocity, then hide under your own people retaining hostages from that atrocity, and then blame others when your own people are hurt. But sure, make a caricature of other arguments that you can actually think you defeat.
I've never fully understood people whose response to the killing of civilians in Gaza is basically a shrug of the shoulders and saying "life's hard" and "war's bad." A total unwillingness to acknowledge that Israelis have agency and that they could have chosen to prosecute the war differently. They chose not to.

Reminder. The difference between Zionism and Islamism. Zionism: One tiny piece of land should belong to the Jews and anyone else that’s okay with that is welcome Islamism: EVERY land should belong to Muslims and if you’re not okay with that, you either convert or die

Imagine being a misogynistic, Islamic supremacist prick like this, thinking you're going to be in paradise with 72 virgins only to get foiled by a middle aged Hindu and an unarmed Jewish plumber looking at life in an Emirati pit, laughing stock of the world.

If you destroy or damage most of the buildings while fighting the terror state housed in tunnels underneath them, but 98% of the civilians are still alive, despite being barred by Egypt from fleeing the war zone, and sometimes being prevented by the terror state from fleeing even direct warnings of impending strikes, it's very strong evidence of "not genocide."
destroying a bunch of buildings is not a genocide.

A few key revelations related to Gaza coverage in last few days: - Almost all of the media in Gaza were in a Hamas-run WhatsApp group that dictated and coordinated coverage. Including contributors to major western news organizations. - Al Jazeera fired 24 of their media members from Gaza for direct ties to terror groups - Admission that anyone in Gaza who reported anything contrary to Hamas claims was likely to be killed by Hamas. Almost all of the information that came out of Gaza was part of a coordinated disinformation campaign by the very people who started the war.

Germans: We want less immigration. AfD: We are against immigration. Liberals:
Here’s my attenpt to explain what’s going on in Germany: - Competition from Eastern Europe severely weakened collective bargaining in the 1990s. The result was wage stagnation and higher inequality. (This gave rise to a temporary export boom, but it didn’t last). - Gerhard Schroeder’s Hartz IV reforms undermined the German welfare state and created a new category of precarious low paying jobs. - Angela Merkel’s debt brake led to massive austerity right after the global financial crisis. This was removed only for military spending. - Germany’s leading industry was always cars. But the industry made a bad bet on ICE cars instead of EVs, and is now getting killed by China. - German industry relied on cheap fossil fuel energy from Russia. We know how that worked out. And now the AfD is riding high and the SPD (which used to be the world’s most prominent left-wing party) is dead. And Merz is weak feckless. Do you disagree with any of this, @edenhofer_jacob?

I feel like, at a bare minimum, the broader left should fully reject the people going full Nazi. Love a big tent but it's gotta have walls to keep Nazis out.
I got a new slogan. Make America Free Again. You don't have to say from what. Everybody already knows.
