How many Americans know that for eight straight years after September 11, Japanese warships stood in 120-degree heat in the Indian Ocean to pump 135 million gallons of free fuel into the U.S. Navy? After the twin towers fell in 2001, American carrier strike groups raced to the Arabian Sea to strike terrorist strongholds in Afghanistan. Why could American warships not simply pull into Middle Eastern ports to refuel? Because just one year earlier, suicide bombers in a small boat had blown a forty-foot hole in the destroyer USS Cole in Yemen. Entering port meant risking ambush and losing days off the front line. Within weeks of 9/11, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force dispatched its fleet oilers, including JS Towada, JS Tokiwa, and JS Mashu, ten thousand miles from home. Sailing side by side with U.S. destroyers and cruisers at twelve knots across heavy ocean swells, Japanese sailors shot steel cables across the water and winched thick rubber fuel hoses into American tanks without spilling a single drop. From December 2001 to January 2010, Japanese crews completed 939 underway refueling operations. They delivered 510,000 kiloliters, roughly 135 million gallons of fuel, plus 11,000 tons of fresh water, entirely paid for by the Japanese taxpayer. On the final day of the mission in January 2010, American sailors lined the rails of their warship in the blazing sun, took off their caps, and saluted the Japanese crew as the hoses were uncoupled for the last time. True loyalty does not ask for a camera. It holds the line for eight years in the sun.

The Wizard of Oz is 87 years old. If Dorothy met a man with no brains, heart, or courage today, she wouldn't be in Oz. She'd be in Westminster.

Reeves’s stamp duty raid backfires as Treasury LOSES £500m in receipts. Also, HMRC WRITES OFF £13bn in tax as businesses collapse under Labour. Labour increased capital gains tax and the money coming into the Treasury FELL. How incompetent are Labour, every measure they take to try and grab more of our money fails and they end up with less money. Financially illiterate. Policies which are punitive only ending up with the Treasury being worse off. Labour never learn. Get Labour out. telegraph.co.uk/money/tax/ne…

Alonso test stiekem in Marokko in een Dakar-auto en zegt daarna: 2027? Bijna onmogelijk. Fernando, ik start in januari mijn 21e. Onmogelijk is het niet. Wel compleet idioot. Daarom is het zo mooi. Gratis tip: neem een broer mee. Iemand moet toch de schuld krijgen. 😅 #Dakar2027

We lost two great actors this year. They were also our Brothers in Arms. Tom Skerritt (August 25, 1933 – October 21, 2026) enlisted just after graduating from high school, serving a four-year tour of duty in the United States Air Force as a classifications specialist. Most of his enlistment was spent at Bergstrom Field, Austin, Texas. James Tolkan(June 20, 1931 – March 26, 2026) served briefly in the Navy during the Korean War, completing basic training in San Diego before shipping out to Oakland, Calif., to prepare for duty aboard the Haskell-class attack transport USS Sandoval. Undefeated Golden Gloves boxer before and during his service in the U.S. Navy Rest in Peace Warriors, Commander Mike “Viper” Metcalf and Tom “Stinger” Jardian

Tom Skerritt is gone at 93. Viper from Top Gun. Captain Dallas in Alien. Duke in MASH. The dad in A River Runs Through It. An Emmy for Picket Fences. Before Hollywood, he served in the United States Air Force. No scandals. No lectures. Just a working man's actor who showed up and made every movie better. They don't make them like Tom anymore. Rest easy, Viper.

Look at this! Coming soon is the 2.7RS from the Whiskey Piston Co. and guess who created the artwork? Drawing no.1 was the concept sketch for the car itself and drawing no.2 is the final piece for the tube. Proud of this project and grateful to Thomas for the opportunity #Porsche
