Despite the Trump-told-Musk-to-knock-it-off narrative, Starlink/shield still nerfed in some areas and unable to be used for jet drone interception, reportedly.
"Picket Fences" was appointment TV for me in the '90s and Skerrit's Middle American oft-puzzled-but-understanding father character is not something we often see now.

A day after Trump's handpicked envoy called Putin "a humanitarian," & only a few days after a Russsian strike killed a one-year-old in her stroller, Russia apparently committed a war crime on top of a war crime by using cluster bombs in their missile strikes on Kyiv civilians.
There were reports on efforts to deal with the aftermath of Russian attacks on our cities and communities.
Overnight, Russia used, among other weapons, three ballistic missiles with cluster warheads against Kyiv. These missiles are designed to detonate in the air as they approach their targets, spreading damage across an area 400 meters in diameter.
One of them struck Pechersk, Kyiv's historic center, hitting the area between the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Holy Presentation Monastery.
Monastery buildings, homes, shops, cafés, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.
This is another extraordinarily revealing strike – revealing because it was no accident. The choice of weapon was deliberate, the choice of target area was deliberate, and so was the intent to inflict as much loss and damage on civilians as possible. There was no military target nearby, not even in theory, and the weapon was designed to cause widespread destruction. Russia has not changed the way it wages this war, and it is taking no steps that would signal a genuine desire to end it.
Throughout the day, air raid alerts have continued in Kyiv and many other cities. So have the strikes. In Kharkiv, a regular commuter train was hit. Dnipro, Marhanets, Mykolaiv, and Kherson, as well as cities and villages in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions, came under attack.
Russia keeps targeting our energy infrastructure. Since October 11, there have been more than 170 strikes on critical energy facilities, even though we are shooting down a significant number of “shaheds” and some of the missiles. I thank all our friends around the world who are helping us restore our energy system.
Our intelligence services report that Russia has set priorities for further terror against Ukrainians in the coming weeks. Russia is clearly taking advantage of the slowdown in air defense supplies from our partners. It is equally clear that when some partners ease the pressure on Russia, it only reinforces Putin's belief that his goals are within reach. We need different signals and different steps – stronger ones.
I have instructed the Ministry of Defense, together with the military command and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to brief our partners on every aspect of the real situation and the threats we face, based on intelligence data. It is important to speed up deliveries of defense packages that have already been approved. I thank all the leaders and countries that are helping!
Early reports that tonight's 22-missile barrage against Kyiv included some with cluster munitions, which, if confirmed, would be a war crime on top of the first war crime of targeting civilians.
Ukraine is almost or after this actually out of Patriot interceptors to protect its civilians from being bombed. Its European allies have bought more but the US has withheld most of that delivery, according to Zelenskyy.

I... I don't know if this is a "Game of Thrones" reference or a LOTR one or a bit. Halp.

SCOOP: AIPAC will no longer endorse congressional candidates or earmark donations to congressional campaigns. The group's super PAC, United Democracy Project, will continue to operate and it will urge members to donate directly to pro-Israel candidates. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/ai…
Trump likely wanted to have a Clinton-Arafat-Rabin photo opp with Putin and Zelenskyy (nvm that Putin won't do a photo op with Z u unless it's to accept total surrender) before midterms to boost his image but Putin now has put even that w/ a temp ceasefire out of reach.
OKC is one of the few places where you could find an all-Native comedy show. So cool. Heads up, Okie peeps!

Wait, didn't he also say earlier that the Russians released him for nothing in return?
Trump talking excitedly about men's physiques is not new, though the frequency of it seems to be. What all the stories on that have neglected is this from almost two years ago exactly.

OMFG -- "When he took showers with the other pros, they came out of there, they said 'oh my god. That's unbelievable" --Trump says that when other golfers showered with Arnold Palmer they would marvel at how big his dick is
Trump telegraphed this the other day, when he posted about progress being made "including hostage negotiations!" The question is what sanction easing or other goodies will Putin get that Trump will claim will helps end the war but in reality won't help Ukraine or end hostilities.
New: The Trump administration is closing in on a deal with Moscow that would see multiple Americans released from detention in Russia, two U.S. officials and another source familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

Someone (Musk, per WSJ; Musk and Trump jointly, per The Telegraph) throttled Ukrainian anti-drone drones to 160 kph/100 mph or they lose necessary internet connection. Russian jet drones arrive at 450 kph/280 mph. The throttling makes them harder to intercept/more likely to hit.

The NRSC and Tom Cotton have just placed a hybrid buy in Arkansas.
$68,645 in Little Rock.
Called it months ago (and before that). But if the images so far out of Ukraine are not making an impact, I may have been wrong in thinking Trump would hesitate when faced with images of collapsing highrise apartment buildings.
