The reason I feel very confident this election will shatter expectations is: the consultant class hates half the candidates who are running since their chosen ones didn't withstand the primaries, which means their middle ground pablum isn't the dominate message voters are hearing

The first time I read this story, I missed the cop’s insane quote defending himself:
A one-stoplight TX town got in bed with ICE for $$ and started pulling over every other car and detaining Hispanics. 10% of the town is gone now, and businesses are struggling. The town cop has to look over his shoulder in public now.

How anyone thinks this is anything but a literal trash tabloid is embarrassing.
That's three polls in a row putting Bradford ahead.
Mainstreet has him up by 1.4 points 48.9% to 47.5%, Build Canada has Bradford up by 4.7 points at 48.4% to 43.7%.
Now Liaison has it 49% to 47% for Bradford.
This is what we call momentum.

I have been following the American polling carefully . I can disentangle the dross from the reliable. It's increasingly clear that Trump is going to suffer a major defeat. For me the question shifts from will he be decisively bounced to what sort of anti democratic chaos will ensue

Two African films have secured five nominations at the 36th Gotham Film Awards, announced on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, by the Gotham Film & Media Institute, the New York-based nonprofit organization supporting independent cinema.
“Clarissa,” directed by Nigerian twin filmmakers Arie and Chuko Esiri, received four nominations, tying for the highest number this year alongside “All of a Sudden,” “La Gradiva,” “The Invite” and “Tender Loving Care.”
The Lagos-set reimagining of Virginia Woolf’s novel “Mrs Dalloway” is nominated for Best Feature and Best Adapted Screenplay, the latter recognizing Chuko Esiri. Sophie Okonedo received an Outstanding Lead Performance nomination, while India Amarteifio is nominated for Breakthrough Performer.
Distributed by NEON, “Clarissa” premiered in May 2026 at Directors’ Fortnight, the Cannes independent selection section.
Rwandan filmmaker Marie-Clémentine Dusabejambo’s debut feature, “Ben’Imana,” received a nomination for Best International Feature.
The film, which examines reconciliation in Rwanda following the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, won the Caméra d’Or for best first feature at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Rwanda selected it as the country’s first-ever submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
The Gotham nominations add to the international recognition of both productions.
Winners will be announced on Monday, 30 November 2026, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
