The film is great the way it is but the marketing pitch really did try and sell a different movie. In some ways I see the vision, setting an expectation of pace lower so casual horror fans aren't taken aback. But instead the cinephiles just wish it had actually been slow cinema

Seems pretty self-evident to me that the first In A Violent Nature should have been a hundred times *more* boring and matter-of-fact. Ten minutes of steady trudging followed by a context-free kill that's over in seconds. No closeups. I'm completely serious about this to be clear
