Your first 1M, 10M or 100M is not the money that will bring your family out of poverty. It is also not meant for big-boy/girl lifestyle. I have said this before and I hope my co-young Nigerians can learn. I know 1M looks like a very small money but for some, that’s the highest money you’d ever encounter AT ONCE in your life and whatever you are able to do with it can either make or mar your future. Around June-August 2020, I got my first job on Upwork and made about $1500 from it after paying others who worked with me. If I remember vividly, that was not even up to 1M as at then. But it changed my life positively and for good!!! Guess what, my lifestyle didn’t change too much just because I got that kinda money. As a matter of fact, I put most of the money in some of those investments that trended during that Covid period and was lucky enough to make 20-25% monthly till December before I pulled out (which thank God I did, as by January it crashed). That money was part of the initial capital for the gas plant that started running by April 2021. You know the funny thing was that I didn’t get another job between August and early December 2020 on Upwork. Imagine going from that good start to a 4-month dryness? Big time “enugbe”. The next job I got, I did the interview and exam late December and started working with them by 10th of January, 2021. That went on for 2 straight years. $400 monthly for the first year and $500 monthly for the second year. In between this, I had a few consistent clients and some one-time gigs here and there. By December 2021, I got another gig that paid between $500 – 1k monthly depending on work done and lasted about 8 months. In 2022 as well, I got a one-time $1k job on Fiverr. I lost both Upwork and Fiverr accounts in November and December 2022, consecutively! In between all of these, I consistently ran my tutorial (Highflyers Tutors) and 2 gas stations (opened the first at April 2021 and the second at April 2022). I didn’t disregard my physical businesses just because I was making some good money, as you may call it, online! My lifestyle still did not really change so big as I knew I wasn’t there yet. If not that I changed my mind and decided to relocate, I honestly hoped I’d get to a point from physical businesses where I’d make at least 1M monthly since I knew freelancing was not always consistent! My rent was less than 200k per year. That was something I could make in 2 weeks or max of a month. I knew people who made $10k or more and blew it. As at same 2021, someone I knew faintly made about 60M, slept in hotels and went to clubs for close to 6 months until he blew that money till the last drop finished! They’re mostly yahoo boys, btw. So, as I said earlier, your first financial breakthrough isn’t what will pull all your family out of poverty. It is also not for living large and showing off that you’ve arrived! Rather, it’s a seed that, if used or invested well, can take you to greater heights and eventually help your loved ones as well. But if misused, you might end up poorer than you used to be! YOU ARE NOT A YAHOO BOY so you shouldn’t be trying to use your breakthrough money to impress anyone.

Statistics na your mate??? I thought women are breadwinners in most households? 🤷🏾‍♂️😊
Men! once you get married, please write your will. Death doesn’t have a timetable. Don’t allow your wife and kids suffer Biko. No detail is too small to leave out. Enough is enough. I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation in 2026.

Here is my opinion on the Toluwanisings issue!
I have genuinely been avoiding directly commenting on this Toluwanisings issue because there are so many sides to the story beyond what is on SM. First and foremost, my personal opinion is that the spouse of the deceased has a great contribution towards where their deceased partner should be buried. However, as a Christian, wisdom is profitable to direct. Based on what we have seen online, the family has suggested two options for the wife: his house or the family house at the village. I personally think she should be advised by family members and close friends to go for any of those two options. Or if possible and affordable, buy a small piece of land in the city and claim it’s also his and get him buried there. You don’t want the death of your beloved husband to turn to a debate on SM. As a matter of fact, this matter shouldn’t turn to another Mohbad’s case where different narratives will now start flying and all. We are Christians and we should not be entertaining unnecessary drama when we should be honouring the dead! Also as a Christian, who knows and believes the body is just the body, I do not personally care what happens to the body of a deceased person. Sincerely, I don’t!!! Finally, healing for those alive is more important to me than anything else. For someone who also lost a parent at 4, I know that regardless of how long it is, the pain is still almost always there. I would not want the children to go through the trauma of seeing their father’s grave every now and then. That trauma isn’t an easy one to deal with. So, if that’s the reason the wife is trying to avoid him from being buried in their residential home, I perfectly understand. But that same healing could be the reason the family wants him buried in their family house back in Ikirun. They deserve it as well. For that generation, constantly seeing the grave seems okay for them but for this generation, it might be traumatising.

The paternal side is expected to take care of the wife and child of their dead son when he dies a poor man. But when he dies with properties and wealth, the family is expected to stay away from his wife and children.

Just imagine this. After sharing a heartbreaking story of how a man tragically died directly from the result of his wife’s infidelity, see what this person wrote as advice: “Dear men if you know you can’t handle disappointment please run away from DNA. You don’t need to start looking for what is not missing.” No advice for women to not be unfaithful. No advice for women to stop cheating on their husbands. The empty demonic advice you have is still for men- and it is that men must bear with whatever crap their wives bring home for them. If a man’s cheating actions led to the death of a woman when she finds out, will you like it if someone said “women stop checking your man’s phone”. But many of you brainless idiots can never understand the evil you do until the tables turn and you are at the receiving end of the same thing. It is really sad to see and also sad to say but someone has to say it regardless. Many of you ladies on this app are actually heartless, godless and pathetically horrible human beings that have no conscience whatsoever. Tomorrow you will come here and say “why do men say certain things about women on this app?”. Yet this is the kind of asinine lunatic things some of you say and endorse after the tragic death of a man. What a shame. What an utter disgrace.
Inside the Lagos blue line rail last night, the two guys that I was sitting with inside the train , I know one personally in mandilas he deals on men shoes, they were discussing about their club member that died, they said his business was having problems he decided to sell his properties to relocate with his family to Canada, so during the visa process it was discovered that his four children were not his own, he collapsed immediately he was taken to the hospital that was how he died. (He was battling with BP) Dear men if you know you can’t handle disappointment please run away from DNA. You don’t need to start looking for what is not missing., Raise your children and enjoy life.

Small banter from Mbappé, and look at the reaction from China and its government. One day, you people will learn to appreciate Western civilization. Just one day.

I’m on your side fully. Me too. But reality is not on our side. I watched a woman fall out of love slowly because she was carrying the both of us while I was doing piece jobs. I was working at cotton on while she was earning a nurse’s salary. She never fought, she never argued. She just started returning from work to shower, while het friends waited outside. She’d go out and returned whenever she wanted. I became nothing to her. Women wholeheartedly loathe the idea of providing for a man.
I will never understand why men are intimidated by women who earn more than them. There’s nothing I want more than a woman that earns more than me 😂
