Did you know… Jimmy Stewart flew 20 combat missions over Europe during WWII and earned numerous honors, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the French Croix de Guerre with palm?
This photo comes from the Milton Stokes Collection at the @Mighty8thMuseum. We're honored to be collaborating with the museum to help share Jimmy's story and recognize the brave airmen who served alongside him.
Discover this remarkable chapter of Jimmy's life in JIMMY, in theaters November 6.

11:30 pm Tuesday: At exactly this time 57 year ago, the calm eye of Category-5 #Hurricane CAMILLE—the second strongest in American history, with estimated wind of 150 knots—was passing over Bay Saint Louis #Mississippi. Downtown had about 10 minutes of calm before the ferocious winds started up again from the opposite direction. Across the Bay, in Pass Christian, there was no calm—the hurricane's intense right eyewall raked the city unabated, reducing the waterfront to a heap of rubble. By morning, much of Downtown Bay Saint Louis was gone—swept away by wind and wave. It was rebuilt, then destroyed again by KATRINA in 2005, then rebuilt again. Today's Bay Saint Louis is a glittery monument to resilience. And the great hurricanes all seems like ancient history now. Sitting on the porch of Hurricane House on a still summer night, the glassy smooth Gulf reflecting the moon perfectly, I have trouble imagining it all—what CAMILLE would have been like, right here, in this spot. I can’t picture it—my imagination fails me—because, despite its name, Hurricane House is the calmest place on earth. That's what I built it to be—my quiet place to return to. My place to rest up between adventures. But of course it won’t be this way forever. Another hurricane will come. It is what it is.
