"The Public Records Act is a critical tool to ensure government transparency. Seattle should have admitted its error early on and moved on – rather than wage a long and costly legal battle. We offered to settle multiple times over the past three years. I believe the city refused strictly due to animus over my political leanings, not based on their likelihood to prevail on the merits," says @BrandiKruse.

BREAKING: This morning, the State Supreme Court handed us a long-awaited legal victory, refusing to hear the City of Seattle's desperate request for review of our public records lawsuit dating back to 2023. The City of Seattle has officially run out of lifelines.
The City Attorney's Office has needlessly drawn this case out for years, at growing taxpayer expense. As the State Court of Appeals ruled unanimously, the city's failure to adhere to the Public Records Act was not in factual dispute. They failed to follow the law in responding to a request for documents related to former Councilman Andrew Lewis' controversial vote to reject a proposal by the former city attorney to prosecute drug offenses – delaying release until after an election where Lewis was on the ballot.

Without organizations like @CADFWashington, challenging these government abuses would be cost prohibitive. I am grateful for their determination in seeing the case through. Onward.

Far-left Democrat legislator Cindy Ryu finally admitted what Republicans have been warning about for months, says @WAGOP Chairman Rep. @JimWalshLD19 in his latest update.
Ryu proposed lowering the tax threshold in the unconstitutional state income tax from a million dollars to 250K, in an interview to KUOW last week,
“This is just another example of a ‘Kinsley gaffe’—a political slip in which a politician inadvertently tells the truth," adds Chairman Walsh. (The term is named after journalist and commentator Michael Kinsley.)
Most importantly: “You have a chance to stop this madness by voting YES on I-645 to repeal the unconstitutional state income tax scheme,” exhorts Chairman Walsh, urging all Washington voters to vote YES on all three initiatives, including I-001 to restore parental rights, and I-638 to protect girls’ sports.
And with an undeniably partisan WA Supreme Court, Chairman Walsh is urging voters to vote for the five open seats on the WA Supreme Court. The WAGOP is recommending Scott Edwards, David Stevens, Sean O’Donnell, Dave Larson, Todd A. Bloom.
Recently, WA’s high court ruled against I-2066, the natural-gas initiative, claiming it violated the single-subject rule, even after two-million Washington voters voted in favor of it.
“The single-subject rule has been applied inconsistently to initiatives and rarely at all to legislative bills,” says Chairman Walsh. The state supreme court clearly shows a political bias.”

Vote YES on I- 645 to repeal the state income tax. If Washington State Democrat legislators were truly serious about keeping a million-dollar tax threshold, they would have locked it in with a constitutional amendment. While Republicans tried in earnest to secure that protection, Democrats blocked them at every turn—proving they simply cannot be trusted with your tax dollars.

"The mainstream media is making mistakes in its characterization of the current status of the appointment of a US Attorney for Western Washington," says @WAGOP Chairman Rep. @JimWalshLD19.
"First and of greatest importance to concerned citizens who've reached out to me: The federal trial-court judge's recent opinion does NOT directly affect Pete Serrano and the work he's doing for the people of Washington. Serrano is on the job.
"Second: The matter will likely need to be resolved by a higher court—a federal appeals court or maybe even the US Supreme Court.
"This is a local issue for us here in our Washington. But this issue has national significance. At its core, the issue is: Does the President get to appoint his key people, as the US Constitution says? Or can hyper-partisan politicians and judges use lesser rules to undermine the Constitution?

There is a huge scandal brewing, and it doesn't seem like local media is putting all the pieces together quite yet. But they're close. Dow Constantine just got a massive raise and a $30,000 bonus from @SoundTransit for delivering a light rail extension in time for the World Cup in Seattle.
Well, as reported earlier this month, that extension was killing federally protected fish. But according to new reporting from @KOMONews, Sound Transit knew way back in December 2025 that the extension was electrocuting fish and did nothing about it.
"The transit agency said it only learned of the dead fish in August. Alex Quibell, an electrician who worked on the Crosslake Connection, said photos of their carcasses were shown to members of the Sound Transit team in December, but the warnings went nowhere."
Divers wet back months later and noticed the problem got worse. There were dead fish in PILES.
"We knew about it, it was brought up to Sound Transit, and it was just dead silence."
"We brought this up, there are fish dying, there are piles of dead fish on the ground."
Why did the warnings go nowhere?
Could it be that Dow's bonus and raise were riding on opening the line? Did Sound Transit sweep the problem under the rug to meet their deadline?
Keep in mind, protecting fish in Washington state is serious (and expensive) business. We've ripped out millions of dollars of infrastructure in recent years as part of a court-ordered culvert replacement program that has cost taxpayers OVER $5.2 billion.

“The problem in #Seattle and across our state is NOT gun violence; it’s gang violence,” says @WAGOP Chairman Rep. @JimWalshLD19 following Sunday’s gang-related shooting at the Bite of Seattle, which left three bystanders dead.
“There’s no law on the books that would have prevented the thugs and the gangsters at the Bite of Seattle from carrying guns. This is the hypocrisy of the far left in Washington state: They’ve created laws that encourage more gun violence,” adds Chairman Walsh.
“In Olympia, the ruling party has softened the law’s treatment of juveniles so much that gangsters are using them as enforcers. Older gangsters know that if juveniles are caught with a gun or arrested for a violent crime involving a gun, they are likely to receive little more than a slap on the wrist, if that. In WA state, a juvenile must commit multiple offenses before being charged,” he explains.

💯 @KCGOP. Decades of one-party "Democrat" rule is forcing capital flight and unaffordability. Vote Republican by Aug. 4th!
💸 They pitch their policies as "progressive" to get everyone on board. The reality? A skyrocketing tax burden on the working middle class over the last 20 years. Democrat leaders aren't solving the affordability problem, they are making it worse. Vote Republican by August 4th. @WAGOP
