Colleges & MLS want to win. International players receive better development from young ages. When they don't make it over there, they come to US and take roster spots. Why? US values win over development. US kids should go to other countries to develop and then return to US.
I don’t know how you are allowed to do this but it’s a huge problem.
It’s an even bigger problem when you realize MLS next pro & MLS rosters are very similar to this.
Where are young Americans supposed to play??
Both US Soccer & MLS do not care about developing Americans, they only care about lining their pockets.
This was the best Podcast of the season for every single LAFC podcast out there. Getting to hear truth rather than all the nonsense spread by people who don't know is so refreshing. Great guy.

Thanks to @jonathanstoop for sharing this information. 👇
“A longitudinal study of 47 players at a top Spanish academy used bone-age data to classify biological maturation, with career outcomes tracked 15 years later.
Late maturers reached professional football at 30.8% vs. 5.6% for early maturers. Every player from the cohort competing in a top 5 European league at follow-up belonged to the late-maturing group.” (ref study by Saul Aixa-Requena, et al. )

So what?
If you are a youth coach, do a quick and simple study. Check birthdates and maturation of your players.
Are you winning today and prejudicing the players who through no fault of their own mature later? Probably.
Many smaller players compensate with cognitive and technical skills they develop as they cannot depend on size.
▪️ There is a future Kante, Griezmann, Vitinha, Iniesta or Scholes out there waiting for you to give him a chance.
Be the coach that looks beyond brawn.

A little louder for the parents in the back.
Youth Soccer Tryouts Are ALMOST HERE Across the USA! Parents and players, don’t get fooled by flashy buzzwords like “Elite Training” or “Player-Centered.”
If they don’t have elite coaches, proper facilities, AND actually back it up with their actions… it’s just marketing.
Do your homework:
✅ Ask other families for real experiences
✅ Visit training sessions and watch the coaches
✅ Trust your gut
Your kid deserves the right fit not the loudest ad.
I support MDS fully.

If this was Andre Pierre Gignac's Au Revoir, leyenda.
This man completely transformed an organization and redefined how foreign players are acquired. 5 Liga MX titles, 1 CCC, a Copa Libertadores, and a Club World Cup finalist.

WOW
"F*CK OFF LAFC" 😳
The record Swiss champions Grasshoppers, staring down the barrel of relegation once more and freshly eliminated from the cup by second-tier opposition, make their feelings about their Los Angeles owners perfectly clear.
