Good to remember that it wasn't too long ago that a player (who was playing more games than they do today, barring injury - rest days are a recent development) who struck out 100 times in a season was viewed as a liability.
Jeter to Murphy...
“The Brewers play baseball the right way” ….
- Pat Murphy replies … “Guys today don’t understand that!”
We have gotten so far away from center as to what winning baseball is and looks like… the younger generation’s focus is on launch angle, spin rates, velocity and you only win by out slugging the opponent! Basically…. Hit more HR than the other team…. Then pimp the HR.
Well eyes have been opened. They have to be. It’s now a matter of … if pride will keep the other orgs from following. If they do… our game will skyrocket like never before.
It was literally the most beautiful baseball I have seen at the MLB level … electric!

Yes, because competitive balance is still a problem.
(It's not an opinion; it's a math equation.)
"If the CEO of KFC stopped working tomorrow, the company would still make money."
For a time. But eventually, the lack of leadership would cause dysfunction at every level.
Entropy.
This is entirely laughable, considering virtually every society for which we have records discusses poverty as a problem.
Never let these people get close to political power.
I'm forming the opinion that this barrage of ostensibly trans-supporting minors posting the same BS on this topic are really overweight 50something males sitting at their computer wearing their wives' underwear and lipstick.
Sure. On this one, the ball pretty much had to be placed in a window a couple of inches square.

A reasonable estimate as to lives lost is zero.
"I hope they know this shit gets people to commit suicide."
No, it doesn't. It's a resource for transpeople who wishof their own choice to reverse course. If you're a transperson who doesn't wish to reverse course, you just ignore it.
Hope that helps.
This viewership debate is bonkers.
OBVIOUSLY, when two smaller market teams are involved, you'll get lower ratings. There's fewer bandwagoners in the populations to get on board.
Gotta look at this per capita. (next)
I don’t know why Fox is trying to brag about these numbers.
Average the G1 and G2 viewership, you get 11.55M. That is slightly better than I think most expected. But its still on pace to be the third least watched World Series since they started tracking viewership in 1973.
It’s roughly a 20 percent decline from each of the last two World Series matchups. This is a bad number no matter how much Fox tries to dress it up.
The decision to start Darvish was a huge managerial blunder. Darvish had been acquired from the Rangers, the Astros divisional partner, and the Astros hitters knew his tendencies VERY well.
Had Kershaw started on short rest, could have been a very different outcome.
The most interesting question is what happens in the next 50 years.
Replying to @saadmohseni
The fact that you can name a few proves his point.
Just because Ibn Khaldun was an Arab it doesn't mean Saudi, Iraq or Tunisia are knowledge producers.
Arabs don't produce knowledge today, it's an obvious point acknowledged in the Arab world for decades.
The interesting question is why?
"Conservatives force kids into church to brainwash them."
Oh, you're one of THOSE kind of people.
Replying to @KezuraHonshi
Conservatives force kids into church to brainwash them. Y'all harass kids about their gender and sexuality, and when they seek asylum from you, you accuse their protectors of everything you did to them prior. You are a cult that glorifies rape and pedophilia. Sheer projection.
"We all are very aware..."
"We" refers to the other inmates in your asylum, of course.
Dude. Every hour you're posting something else that proves you know nothing about baseball stats.
Just stop.
