The Ukraine descending into chaos was predictable and predicted. Those of us who predicted it were blackguarded as enemy agents, marginalised, criminalised and exiled. But we were right. The attempt to use Ukraine as a weapon against Russia was both foolish and doomed. It risked thermo-nuclear World War. The gamble has failed. Who will be held to account?

Last word on this silliness. The candidate we should have “all got behind” was Andrew Feinstein who we “all got behind” the last time. Well all except the Greens who stood against all of us including him. I am standing for many reasons. But mainly this one. I believe that NATO and the EU are leading us into a catastrophic pan-European War in Ukraine (the US will not join it). A war which may consume us all. All the other parties support the war. We do not. It’s as simple as that.

Andy Burnham could have ended UK arms sales to Israel the day he became Prime Minister.
Instead he chose to lick the boot of genocidal arms manufacturers like Elbit Systems while the bombs continue to fall on Gaza.
Every day Britain supplies those weapons, it is complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Every day Arms Sales Andy refuses to stop them, so is he.
Shame on him.

Just another reminder that Andy Burnham voted for the Iraq war - an illegal war that cost over a million lives.
He has refused to describe the systematic slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza as genocide.
So what will change? Nothing.
Arms sales to apartheid Israel will continue.
Palestine Action will remain banned, and more pensioners will be locked up.
Welfare will be cut to fund more weapons.
Immigration detention will expand, and mass deportations will continue.
Andy Burnham is not the second coming. He's the establishment's last roll of the dice.
We've already seen racist pogroms on our streets. That danger has not gone away.
So we must organise, build solidarity, and create power from below. Fascism isn't at the door. It's already here.
Only socialism can face down this barbarism.

I do find it slightly baffling that a police commissioner can openly go on political programs, talk about political issues in an opinionated manner, openly defy his own boss, and still have a job at the end of all of that.
