Imagine making Steve Sarkisian, Lincoln Riley and Dan Lanning look like elite coaches in the same season...

"Hey Ryan, Cargoshorts McAsskiss here from the Columbus Gazette How do you think the fanbase's unrealistic expectations played in to the two dropped interceptions and the fake punt?"

Wow, I wonder if this is the kind of dynamic talent that could help an offense like Ohio State. Have to imagine he’s a major portal target for the Buckeyes
Jelani Thurman just caught his team-leading 7th TD of the season. He has been exceptional for #UNC this year.

I told him he would never be our governor in Aug. 2024 after a famous date at a chicken shack of Olentangy Road. He had me sweating for a bit. I won’t lie about that part. But in the end… he was who we thought he was!!!!!!!
Tough to overstate the role that The Rooster’s reporting played in Ohio’s election cycle the last two years. Only furthers my theory that there is no better training ground for modern media than the Ohio State football beat.

We got your back, New York!

Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026). arkolith.com/news/news-micr… therepublic.com/?p=843020 governor.ny.gov/news/safer-str…

I can independently confirm that’s the email that he’s had since at least college, as well as one he still maintains and is tied to his current Twitter account.

Of the many sins of Ryan Day, being dog shit at special teams year after year, and being smugly dismissive about it when asked, is probably at the top of the list

The reality on Ryan Day and Ohio State at this point is that it feels like they aren't maximizing the immense resources the program has because of how conservatively they decide to play. They might have enough resources to just win anyway, but it feels like they coach scared.

Ohio State’s passing defense is No. 2 in efficiency, No. 1 in yards per attempt, No. 1 in pass breakups, No. 2 in touchdowns allowed despite never really being able to generate a pass rush with four players and ranking 108th in sacks per game. Secondary is high up on the list of things I’d be least worried about. Do need to have Jay Timmons out there so that Jermaine Mathews can stay outside, though.
Best passing defenses through week 7 (def. EPA/dropback vs. def pass success rate) UCLA an LSU clear and away the best so far. Once again our dear Yellow Jackets refuse to be normal. gameonpaper.com/charts/build…

Awful Announcing has obtained documents indicating ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro and Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks personally lobbied for changes to the Protect College Sports Act that would protect their existing TV contracts. After their efforts, the bill's language was amended ⤵️

You can probably imagine my reaction when my lawyers, whom I hired precisely for their First Amendment expertise, told me that somehow my First Amendment rights didn’t exist in a trial about political speech aimed at a public official.
ICYMI: The judge in the Rooster trial prohibited the defense from arguing the case on First Amendment grounds. (This happened during a pretrial meeting, and I was completely unaware during the proceedings.) axios.com/local/cleveland/20…

The tale of "Operation Desperado" — in which independent journalist D.J. "The Rooster" Byrnes led Ohio State football "fan" Vivek Ramaswamy to the parking lot of a Raising Cane's, as the gubernatorial candidate hoped to meet head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes…

Said it a couple weeks ago but there is a growing amount of the population whose religion has become “you never have to apologize or admit you made a mistake”.
Replying to @Eric_Schmitt
@Eric_Schmitt : isn’t embarrassed coz he didn’t make a mistake
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Schmitt claimed he made no mistake as he asked if Smith was in Atlanta for a Hawks game and Smith said no. The texts referred to an Iowa Hawkeyes womens basketball game that Smith attended in Maryland not Atlanta. tmz.com/2026/09/29/eri… missouriindependent.com/2026/09/29/eri…

From an elite CFB personnel exec who’s won a title, unsolicited: “If you need another comment, I’d add: As a family, if you’re even considering this as a means of getting recruited, it represents either A) an issue of simply not being good enough to generate D1 recruitment on your own and/or B) such a lack of knowledge and awareness about how the recruiting process actually works that any type of exposure would serve little to no purpose for the athlete.”
