This is an important discussion, especially when we consider the consequences of hip fractures in older adults. After decades working in physical therapy and rehabilitation, I’ve seen how a single hip fracture can dramatically change someone’s mobility, independence, and quality of life.
The EPIC-Oxford findings deserve serious attention. A 2.31 hazard ratio for hip fractures among vegans compared with meat eaters is a substantial association, even though observational research cannot establish that avoiding meat caused those fractures.
Bone health requires adequate protein, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D, vitamin K, and other essential nutrients, along with mechanical loading through resistance training and weight-bearing activity. Animal foods provide highly bioavailable protein and several important nutrients that support bone and muscle health.
We also need to remember that skeletal muscle protects the skeleton. Strength, balance, and the ability to prevent a fall are just as important as bone density.
Nutrition matters. Muscle matters. Bone strength matters. And maintaining independence as we age should be one of our highest priorities.

Shawn is right. And the numbers are worse than most vegans want to hear.
EPIC-Oxford, run out of the University of Oxford. Nearly 55,000 people followed for an average of 17.6 years.
Compared with meat eaters, vegans had:
More than DOUBLE the risk of hip fracture (hazard ratio 2.31).
43% higher risk of any fracture.
About double the risk of leg fracture.
That works out to about 15 extra hip fractures for every 1,000 vegans over 10 years.
They adjusted for income, lifestyle and BMI. The gap held. They adjusted for calcium and protein intake. It shrank a little and still held.
A hip fracture in an older person is not a bruise. It's often the start of the end.
Your bones are built from protein, minerals and fat-soluble vitamins. Meat and eggs bring all of them, ready to use. I covered the research on meat and bone strength in a video.
Meat is a health food. For your bones too...
Read the actual study. Link below...
Vegans have a substantially higher risk of breaking bones — especially hips.
The EPIC-Oxford study followed nearly 55,000 people in the UK for an average of 18 years and compared fracture rates across diet groups. After adjusting for socioeconomic factors, lifestyle, and body weight, the results were clear:
• Vegans had a 43% higher risk of any fracture compared to meat eaters (HR 1.43).
• Hip fractures were more than double (HR
2.31) — roughly 15 extra hip fractures for every 1,000 people over 10 years.
• Leg fractures were also about twice as high.
The differences were partly related to lower average BMI, calcium intake, and protein intake in the vegan group, but they remained elevated even after those adjustments.
In other words, the higher fracture risk wasn’t fully explained by those factors alone.
This is the largest prospective study looking at both total and site-specific fractures in vegans versus meat eaters.
It doesn’t prove that a vegan diet directly causes weaker bones in every individual, but it does show a consistent, clinically meaningful association in a large, long-running cohort.
Bones need adequate protein, calcium, and sufficient body mass/loading. For many people following a strict vegan diet, those pieces are harder to get in adequate amounts without careful planning and supplementation. The data suggest that, on average, it shows up in fracture rates.

Customer: "No veal, thanks. I know what happens to the calves."
Butcher: "So do I. Which bit do you know?"
Customer: "Crates. Taken off the mother, kept in the dark, can't turn round."
Butcher: "Banned here in 1990. This one had straw, a shed, and other calves to annoy for eight months. Rose veal, we call it. Pink, not white."
Customer: "It's still a baby cow."
Butcher: "It's a dairy bull calf. Where do you think they went before people bought veal?"
Customer: "Reared for beef?"
Butcher: "A Holstein bull doesn't make beef worth the feed. For years the answer was a bolt in the head at a day old. Tens of thousands a year, in this country, shot in the pen because nobody would eat them. The industry only promised to stop that a couple of years ago."
Customer: "That's horrific."
Butcher: "That's the price of a latte. Every pint of milk needs a cow in calf every year, and half the calves are boys."
Customer: "So eating the veal..."
Butcher: "Gives him eight months in a shed instead of eight minutes. The customer who won't touch veal and buys a flat white has made a choice. She just didn't get told what it was."
Customer: "I'll take a kilo."
Butcher: "Good. And the next person who tells you veal is cruel, ask them what they take in their coffee."

RFK Jr: "Vaccines have caused an EXPLOSION of allergies to PEANUTS, DAIRY, EGGS, MEAT & MANY MORE."
"How do you CAUSE a sudden lifelong debilitating allergy?"
"You inject the ALUMINUM adjuvant with PROTEIN."
The Aluminum adjuvant does not JUST give you allergies to the materials that are in that vaccine.
It will also give you an allergy to materials that are in the ambient environment at the time the vaccine was given.
For example, if you get that vaccine when there's a Timothy Weed outbreak, you can suddenly come down with a lifelong allergy to Timothy Weed.
Research shows that vaccinated children have 30X the rate of Allergic Rhinitis as kids who are unvaccinated.
And 36% Higher Rate Of Asthma Diagnosis In 2-5 year old children.
We created an entire generation of severe allergies by injecting vaccines.
Common Excipients Used With Aluminum In Vaccines:
1: Peanut--causes lifelong peanut allergy.
2: Egg Protein--responsible for egg & poultry allergies.
3: Gelatin--pork gelatin can be the cause of meat allergy.
4: Casein Dairy Protein--causes lifelong dairy intolerance.
5: Neomycin Antibiotic--causes antibiotic resistance & antibiotic allergies.
6: Yeast Protein--causes lifelong Brewer's Yeast & Baker's Yeast allergies.
7: PEG Polyethylene Glycol--causes a lifelong allergy to this polymer widely used in food, cosmetics & medications.
8: Beef growth medium/Fetal Bovine Serum-- can be a cause of Alpha Gal Syndrome.
Nobel Laureate Charles Richet demonstrated over a hundred years ago that injecting a protein into animals or humans causes immune system sensitization to that protein.
Subsequent exposure to the protein results in allergic reactions or anaphylaxis. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) confirmed that food proteins in vaccines cause food allergy, in its 2011 report.
And here's the kicker...
The same Big Pharma companies that created the allergy epidemic now make billions more, by selling allergy medications like...
Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec, Xyzal
And these products cause depression which then make them more profit when antidepressant SSRIs are prescribed.

Six months into carnivore the blood test comes back and the surgery rings you in, and the number they're ringing about is the one that matters least.
What they'll say: your cholesterol has gone up. In a lean person eating fat it usually does, because the body is moving fat around in the blood to burn it, and the particles that carry it get counted as LDL.
What they won't mention:
- Triglycerides: down, often by half
- HDL: up
- HbA1c: down, into the range the cereal never reached
- Fasting insulin: down, if anyone bothered to measure it
- CRP: down
- Blood pressure: down
- Liver enzymes: down
The ratio that predicts a heart attack best on a standard panel is triglycerides divided by HDL, and carnivore drives it one way: towards the floor. The seven-minute appointment reads one line of the sheet and hands you a statin for it.
Take the full print-out home. The sheet tells the story the appointment didn't have time for, and the first line is the only one that went in a direction the surgery recognises as bad.

FIRE YOUR DOCTOR IF THEY TELL YOU THIS ABOUT THE SUN!
Dr. Adiel Tel-Oren: “If ANY doctor EVER tells you to stay out of the sun… FIRE THEM IMMEDIATELY!”
The sun is CRUCIAL for our health — not the enemy.
The sun does NOT create melanoma. It PROTECTS us from it.
Over 90% of melanoma occurs on parts of the body NEVER exposed to sunlight.
The small percentage on the face? Mostly on people who slather on chemical SPF daily — blocking the very melanin that protects the skin.
This is medical malpractice dressed up as “safety.”
Chemical sunscreens are toxic poison:
- They absorb into your bloodstream at 14x the FDA safety limit after just ONE day.
- Oxybenzone: Endocrine disruptor that tanks testosterone and drives breast cancer + endometriosis.
- Octocrylene: Contaminated with the carcinogen benzophenone.
- Avobenzone: Blocks testosterone and disrupts hormones.
Meanwhile, industrial seed oils (the real villain) have exploded 328% in our diets since the 1940s. They oxidize your skin from the inside out and set the stage for cancer. The sun gets blamed while Big Food & Big Pharma profit.
Every cell in your body communicates through light.
Blocking UVB with sunscreen sabotages:
- Natural Vitamin D
- Melanin & cholesterol synergy (your skin’s cancer shield)
- Hormones, mood, immunity, bone health & more
Solution:
Get daily safe sun exposure.
For long exposure, use grass-fed beef tallow or coconut oil + non-nano zinc oxide.
Do NOT trust doctors who fear the sun.
The sun is medicine.
Chemical sunscreen is a scam.
Seed oils are destroying you from within.
Embrace the sun. Ditch the poison. Fire the fear-mongers.
Your health depends on it.

I recently had a cardiologist say to me that sure insulin resistance plays a role, but the real cause is the cholesterol and LDL.
Well, the research shows that it's the exact opposite.
The reason that medical training teaches cardiologists to focus on the cholesterol and LDL is because we have drugs that can lower it and selling drugs is the way the system makes money.
Even if doctors tested for insulin resistance, most doctors have no idea how to council their patients on optimizing circadian rhythm and eating a whole foods diet to correct it.
The system is set up to use treatments that create profit, not an approach that actual creates healthier people and prevents disease.

Parents spend weeks — sometimes months — researching the safest car seat, the non-toxic crib mattress, the perfect stroller that won't collapse. They read every review, check crash-test ratings, and triple-check for recalls.
Yet at the "well-child visit," they hand their baby over and let them inject 8 vaccines in one sitting... because the CDC and your pediatrician said so. No questions asked.
Vaccine package inserts that contain ingredients, adverse effects, and so called clinical trial 'safety data' are the most important documents that parents may NEVER choose to look up and read.
Reading even one insert... is all it takes to say NO to future vaccines.
Read it. The listed side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications, and the explicit statement that the vaccines have NOT been tested for carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, or impairment of fertility. Read how many serious injuries and deaths were reported in the clinical trials.
The data is out there — peer-reviewed studies. Real science shows vaccines can and do cause harm: neurological damage, autism, cancer, autoimmune issues, seizures, and death.
If you're still blindly "pro-vaccine" in 2026, you're not following the science. You're following authority... and authority is wrong.
Protect your kids like you protect them from everything else. Read the inserts. Question everything.

i met the oldest person in the world today.
here’s what he told me about how to live
a long, healthy life (tldr at the end):
josé flores was born on July 11, 1907, he is 119 years old.
“what's the secret to living 119 years?”, i asked him…
“trabajo!” (work)
up until a few years ago, José was still on his farm, planting crops and chopping brush with a machete.
in Japan, they call this Ikigai (生き甲斐), a word meaning “a reason for being.” It is well known to be associated with longevity across many cultures. (pmid 19539820)
his lifestyle defies most mainstream longevity ideas...
-he doesn't fear the sun. He works in it daily.
-he eats meat every single day: beef, fish, or chicken, & organs like heart and liver. nothing from the animal is wasted.
(large population studies corroborate the strong, consistent association between animal food consumption and longevity. (pmid 35228814))
-he eats local foods & doesn’t fear natural sugars. Fruit, vegetables, milk, and honey.
-he cooks with animal fats and adds these to staples like rice and beans. lard, tallow, and butter.
he doesn’t fear saturated fat, nor do most in this nicoya region of costa rica.
-he doesn't drink coffee (!) , but he loves young coconut water & agua dulce- a juice made from sugar cane.
-he plays dominoes every day with his family and visitors to keep his mind sharp.
the formula for maxing out your genetic longevity potential doesn’t have to be complex or cost thousands of dollars:
i. eat unprocessed food.
single ingredient foods (meat, plants, with no ingredient labels) for >95% of meals.
ii. find a purpose, and work toward it daily.
iii. get outside. don't fear the sun.
moderate exposure is associated with longevity in many studies (PMID 26992108)
iv. stay close to your people.
the people you care about are critical to the formula. Protect that community.
a large study from Harvard found that meaningful community was the strongest predictor of longevity. (PMID 31495897)
v. don't take life too seriously. Laugh as much as possible.
everyone I have met in my exploration of longevity (ikaria, sardinia, nicoya, switzerland…) who was aging well had an easy sense of humor and smiled + laughed often.
tldr:
longevity doesn’t have to be as complicated as it’s made out to be.
high food quality with animal foods
moderate sunlight
movement
purpose
community
eat food for humans, live like a human, & thrive.
we all have a genetic longevity potential, this is how you maximize it.

CDC Whistleblower's Secret Recording: "We Buried the Data on MMR & Autism, I'm Completely Ashamed."
Dr. Brian Hooker secretly recorded a senior CDC scientist, Dr. William Thompson, who made a shocking admission.
On those recordings, Dr. Thompson freely confessed to a massive cover-up. He admitted that he and his senior associates at the CDC had buried the damning data showing a statistical link between the MMR vaccine and autism.
Thompson stated, "Thimerosal causes autism-like features." He expressed profound shame, saying, "I'm completely ashamed of what I did. The higher-ups wanted to do certain things and I went along with it."
He named senior officials—Colleen Boyle, Frank DeStefano, Marceline Moulton—as participants. At the helm was Dr. Julie Gerberding, who later became president of Merck Vaccine.
This is not a theory. It is a confession from a lead CDC co-author on the pivotal studies used to deny any link. The man inside the machine admitted the fraud.
The public deserves the truth. The victims deserve justice.

Anthropologist: "What month is it in your ancestral forest?"
Nutritionist: "Sorry?"
Anthropologist: "Wild fruit comes in a window. A few weeks, then it's over. What's the fruit-eater doing in the other forty-five?"
Nutritionist: "Finding other fruit."
Anthropologist: "At latitude fifty, in January, forty thousand years ago, with the glacier a day's walk north. Name the orchard."
Nutritionist: "Humans evolved in Africa."
Anthropologist: "And left it. We've been in Europe and Siberia for forty-five thousand years, through an Ice Age, on nothing you'd recognise as a banana. The mammoth was the fruit."
Nutritionist: "The Hadza prove honey is a staple."
Anthropologist: "The Hadza climb thirty feet up a baobab, smoke out a hive, get stung half to death and come down with a comb full of grubs. They eat the grubs. Bee larvae are fat and protein. The honey is the wrapping, and it's a few weeks a year, on the equator."
Nutritionist: "It's still sugar, and they thrive on it."
Anthropologist: "So does a bear. He eats every berry on the mountain in September and sleeps till April. Fruit is how an animal gets fat on purpose before the food runs out. Our liver still does exactly that with fructose. You've taken a seasonal fattening switch and left it pressed down for twelve months."
Nutritionist: "Our sweet tooth is proof we were built for it."
Anthropologist: "Your sweet tooth is one receptor. You've got twenty-five for bitter, because most of what grows wants to poison you. A tongue built for fruit would be a tongue that could taste more than one of them."
Nutritionist: "What about the apple? The grape?"
Anthropologist: "The wild apple is a crab the size of a marble and tastes of battery. The wild banana is seeds held together by spite. Everything on your fruit bowl was bred in the last few thousand years to be a sweet nobody's ancestor ever met."
Moderator: "Closing statements."
Nutritionist: "Sugar from fruit is natural, ancient, and the body was designed to enjoy it."
Anthropologist: "The body was designed to enjoy it for three weeks and then go hunting. You've skipped the hunting and kept the three weeks going since 1980."

Steve Irwin was one of the most passionate animal lovers on the planet. He also wasn’t a vegetarian, and he had a clear reason why.
In a 2001 interview with Scientific American he explained that he went through a phase where he seriously considered going vegetarian. He researched it hard. His conclusion was the opposite of what most people assume.
He used a simple land-use example: one cow could keep him fed for roughly a month. That same piece of land could still have trees, grass, kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, birds, and the rest of the Australian wildlife living in and around it. The cow and the wild animals could coexist.
A plant-only diet for the same period, he argued, required clearing more land just for crops. Once you level that ground for rice or whatever else, almost nothing else can live there except a few pest insects. Habitat gone. Wildlife gone.
He wasn’t anti-meat. He was anti-destroying habitat. And he drew a hard line on which animals should be eaten. He hated the idea of farming or eating Australia’s icons — kangaroos, emus, crocodiles. Those animals were part of the country’s identity and tourism. He wanted people eating the livestock that already occupied grazing land (beef, lamb, etc.), not turning the bush into more monoculture or harvesting the wildlife itself.
On the day he died he had a classic Aussie breakfast: bacon and eggs. He lived a high-output outdoor life and fueled it with real food, not ideology.
Irwin’s position was straightforward: protect the wild animals, keep the land working, and don’t pretend that clearing more ground for plants is automatically better for nature. A lot of modern “eat less meat for the environment” arguments still haven’t grappled with the trade-off he laid out more than 20 years ago.

“I’m not taking health advice from some doctor on social media.”
You absolutely shouldn’t. Don’t listen to anything I write or say.
I eat eggs from our pastured chickens nearly daily...and I fry them in bacon fat, beef tallow, butter or occasionally coconut oil.
I salt my food without measuring it. You know, to taste, like humans have done for millennia.
I eat lots of red meat and full-fat dairy. And even raw milk when we have it available.
I drink my coffee with heavy cream and blend in butter (bulletproof-style).
I deliberately choose fatty cuts of meat.
And I regularly eat whole fruits and vegetables multiple times a day, focusing on low glycemic options.
“Ok, but what about your cholesterol?”
Yep, my body makes a wonderful amount of it. 😊 It's higher than 200 and my LDL is a little "high" too.
Worried?
No.
Why?
Because when I look at the subfractions and patterns of my LDL, it's all good. Plus, my other metabolic markers and ratios are all good or optimal.
"So, you are not concerned about your heart health?"
I am, and that's exactly why I make the choices I described above.
I don’t consume “heart-healthy” vegetable oils. I don’t eat breakfast cereal disguised as heart healthy food. And as mentioned, I don't "watch my salt intake."
These have all been de-bunked, even though they led millions astray into poorer health, for decades
You know what else I don't do?
I don’t snack every 2-3 hours. That doesn't "boost your metabolism." It's another lie for 99% of the population.
I’m not hungry in the morning, I don’t eat anything until close to lunch, and I'm not "starving" when dinner time hits ~7 hours later.
It's like my body is efficiently working metabolically 😉
And then when I've lead 1,000's and 1,000's of people to do the same, they somehow drop an incredible amount of weight and regularly say things like, "I feel better than I have in many years!"
So please ignore the people like me and listen to the experts. The experts that told us to use margarine instead of butter, eat low-fat foods, focus on calories, get 6-11 grain servings per day, and avoid "artery clogging" saturated fats.
They did great and produced the highest levels.... of chronic diseases in human history.
They clearly know what they’re talking about. 😎

This is incredibly EMBARRASSING … for Thomas Dayspring @Drlipid
Setting aside his repeated mischaracterizations of lean mass hyper-responders, his consistent refusal to engage substantively with the topic, and his assertions that lack supporting evidence (such as the claim that ketosis reduces LDL receptor expression) he seems completely unaware of a fundamental fact:
(1) We, the authors, requested the retraction ourselves, AND this was
(2) Due to many issue with the Cleerly AI analysis and their refusal to perform a fully blinded Quality Control check on their dataset after many issues came to light (post April 7). To be ‘Cleer,’ the reason for our request to retract was clarified to JACC Advances (and Retraction Watch), and there has been NO OBJECTION to that being the SOLE cited reason we provided for retraction.
I would be more than happy to have a conversation with @Drlipid and walk him through the facts.
But this kind of flag-waving rhetoric, delivered with a obvious and persistent ignorance of the critical circumstances surrounding the retraction, only serves to illustrate how poorly informed even prominent voices in cardiology and lipidology can be about developments in this field.
TL;DR: If you want evidence of the profound dogmatism that’s corroding public trust in “the experts” this is an excellent example.
— With all respect due —
Regarding Our Request to Retract the Cleerly Analysis
I’ve recently discussed the news that we’ve had multiple participants from the KETO-CTA study independently resubmit their heart scans (CTA) to Cleerly. (See below)
The results showed notable differences from the original Cleerly analysis. That said, these individual submissions were broadly consistent with the other independent analyses within our study.
Moreover, after publication of the paper, we learned the data provided to Cleerly was not fully blinded. Despite our repeated requests (including offers to cover costs), Cleerly declined to perform a fully blinded re-analysis.
It’s worth emphasizing, as with any other longitudinal study, it has always been the expectation of the research team that all analyses would be fully blinded – this isn’t just standard, it’s vital for the integrity of the study itself.
Given we could no longer stand behind the Cleerly-specific portion of the April 7th paper, we formally asked JACC Advances to withdraw this paper, citing this Cleerly dataset and our concerns regarding its validity.
On January 12, 2026, the journal confirmed a full retraction. We expect its official posting on this soon.
Our primary paper—which includes the HeartFlow and pre-specified QAngio analyses—is currently in peer review. Importantly, the two principal findings reported in the original paper— (1) baseline plaque strongly predicts future plaque progression, and (2) ApoB was not associated with plaque progression—were independently reproduced in both the HeartFlow and QAngio analyses.
We're excited to share these updated, blinded analyses in the peer-reviewed process soon. You can find the preprint linked below.
And once again, thanks to everyone for all your support.

Dr. Baker, I agree that we need to keep questioning what we’ve been taught about nutrition. I’ve spent nearly four decades working in physical therapy and rehabilitation, and I’ve seen how much metabolic health affects strength, mobility, and quality of life. I’ve also been eating carnivore since 2016.
Red meat provides highly bioavailable protein and essential nutrients, and I think it’s long overdue that we reconsider how it’s been portrayed. The scurvy question is interesting too, although we still need better long-term research on vitamin C requirements with an all-meat diet.
Science should always be open to new evidence, even when it challenges what we’ve believed for decades.
