And according to a previously classified intelligence review obtained exclusively by The Bureau, Chinese officials have sought to exploit that authority through deceptive diplomatic outreach."

Massive giveaway to developers, without questions or comment from GREEN Fry or COPE Orr — just a vote in lockstep with ABC. So disappointing!
Does this mean that the new Council will continue fealty to Planning and Real Estate staff, giving developers whatever they want?

Litmus test fail? Here is the vote (image by CityHallWatch as the Clerk did not produce one). Green/COPE/OneCity voted unanimously with ABC Vancouver. Not a single question, not a word spoken. Despite massive negative implications for rental housing for years to come. #vanpoli

Let's all remember who "Grand Chief" (an invented title) Stewart Phillip is really allied with. It is not British Columbians.
"At a press conference announcing the strategy on Tuesday, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip said First Nations are tired of being sidelined by Ottawa and the province, and will now strive to negotiate directly with Chinese investors."

Progressives blaming Eby’s defeat in the election timing are totally missing the point. The whole purpose of the early election was to try to overcome the government’s unpopularity rooted in its poor outcomes.
The real problem was the cumulative cost of Eby’s ideological agenda. His government was the last holdout of the failures of Trudeauian progressivism: a subordination of economic growth in favour of deficit financed welfare spending, a dogmatic commitment to climate change and its anti-development effects, excessive identity politics and an overly self critical posture towards Canadian history, and its radical experiment with the harm reduction model.
Election timing and campaign choices didn’t defeat the Eby government. A broad cross-section of British Columbians—from rural parts of the province to downtown Vancouver—rejected it based on the self-evident failure of its ideas.

Congratulations to Premier-designate Lorne Doerksen and the BC Conservatives on their decisive election victory.
As Mayor of Port Coquitlam, I look forward to working constructively with the new provincial government to address the challenges facing our communities.
I also want to congratulate Mike Farnworth on his re-election as MLA for Port Coquitlam.
People in Port Coquitlam, and indeed right across British Columbia, expect their elected representatives at every level of government to work together, find common ground and deliver more than just promises. They expect real results that make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.
That’s the responsibility we all share, it’s the work that lies ahead, and I look forward to doing my part.

Hello from Richmond where immigration did nothing to address the abusive practice of birth tourism in Canada. I did petitions E397 and E1527 and they were tabled in Ottawa. Stupid government ! 😡

Gordon Cambell is the worst Premier that #bcpoli ever had, before Christy Clark ran everything into the ground for China $
He forced HealthCare workers to work for free during the Olympics, and paid Ambulance workers $2/hr and then cut 1.2 Billion in Healthcare after it was over

Interesting how none of the #Bcpoli Parties speak of the $ laundering in #vanpoli that the BC liberals (now BC Conservatives) were deeply involved in, with Teresa Wat, through China
& how BClib finance ministers later worked #cdnpoli banks & were fined millions for laundering
Could the U.S. actually sanction Canadian banks?
Investigative journalist @scoopercooper warns that money laundering through Canada's financial system has become a serious international concern.
The bigger question is why hasn't Canada done more to stop it?
