Can we get back to things that actually need attention in Alberta now?
Maybe the provincial government could stop wasting our tax dollars and do the job we pay them for.

Today marks the beginning of the end of Danielle Smith time as Premier.
Worst. Leader. Ever.

So…
How much more money are we gonna waste so Danielle Smith can continue to not address any of the actual issues that Albertans have.
That and any distraction is a good distraction from corrupt-care.

The only thing left after this referendum vote is for Danielle Smith to resign.

The entitlement of some people is astonishing when it comes to tragedies like this.
No, you are not entitled to be among the first to know what happened.
You can wait until they sort out what they to sort out and notify who they need to notify.
You’ll get info when you get it.

Danielle Smith blaming the feds for her incompetence again. 👇
It cannot be understated: our broken immigration system has caused high unemployment, high home prices and high inflation. It must be fixed and provincial rights strengthened.
Today, the Prime Minister got a copy of our referendum questions including the 9 on immigration and constitutional reforms. If Albertans give us a strong mandate on these questions, our government will get right to work on these needed reforms.
And as I’ve said many times, please vote for Option 1, a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and yes to the rest! 🍁

A message to all sane Republicans: He pardoned 1,600 violent criminals. You said nothing. He bulldozed the East Wing. You said nothing. He interfered with the release of the Epstein files. You said nothing. He took over the Kennedy Center and renamed it after himself. You said nothing. He accepted a $400 million airplane as a personal gift. You said nothing. He threatened Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Greenland, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. You said nothing. He tariffed just about everyone but Russia, causing inflation and instability worldwide. You said nothing. He attacked a nation during mediated negotiations. You said nothing. His ill-conceived war killed 175 children on day one. You said nothing. He alienated and insulted our allies. You said nothing. His ICE Army terrorized and murdered U.S. citizens. You said nothing. He committed murder on the high seas. You said nothing. He co-opted the Justice Department and directed it to prosecute his political enemies. You said nothing. It's time to start talking!!!
It's long overdue!!!!

Edmonton needs more housing. But more density and better planning are not necessarily the same thing.
I live in Glenora. Behind our home, neighbours are challenging a proposed eightplex on a street originally built for single-family homes. Elsewhere in Edmonton, residents have described a single residential property being subdivided to accommodate two eightplexes. Sixteen units where one home once stood.
Where do the vehicles park? Can the streets and alleys accommodate the additional traffic? What about waste collection, drainage, privacy, mature trees and the impact on neighbouring property values?
These aren’t objections to growth. They’re fundamental planning questions.
And then there’s the question of public trust.
Before Council approved Edmonton’s sweeping 2023 zoning overhaul, a Pollara survey of 300 residents found that 62% had never heard of the proposed changes. Only 3% felt capable of explaining them.
Yes, the City conducted public consultations. But consultation and meaningful public understanding are not the same thing.
Every Edmonton homeowner pays property taxes based substantially on assessed property value. Whether someone owns a modest bungalow or a multimillion-dollar home, shouldn’t they reasonably expect the City to consider the financial consequences of fundamentally changing the planning rules around them?
Nobody has a right to freeze a neighbourhood in time. But residents should be able to expect thoughtful planning, transparent decisions and respect for the investments they’ve made in their communities.
I’m not opposed to infill. Next door stands a remarkable 1958 Modernist home that was facing redevelopment. I spoke with the developer, who listened, and the property was subsequently offered for preservation through renovation rather than demolition.
That’s what constructive engagement can accomplish.
Edmonton needs more homes, more investment and more opportunities for people to live in established neighbourhoods. We can pursue those goals while respecting architectural heritage, neighbourhood character and existing residents.
These objectives are not mutually exclusive.
Council had the authority to change the zoning rules. That doesn’t settle whether it exercised that authority wisely.
Good planning considers not just how many units can fit on a lot, but the long-term consequences for the people, infrastructure and communities around it.
Edmontonians deserve growth that makes the whole city stronger.
AI helped me research (I was lazy but still mad tonight) and sharpen this post. The views are mine. The real work belongs to the dedicated Edmontonians fighting to be heard. Credit where it’s due. #yegcc #yeginfill

Hey maple maga folks, here’s the actual rule for an Oilers game at Rogers Place: flags are allowed if they’re 11″ × 17″ or smaller and aren’t attached to a pole or stick. And also not blocking anyone’s view. This is an arena policy, not a blanket NHL ban on flags.

The fact that we are going through this destructive and toxic mess just to save her political skin is bad enough.
But the outrageous waste of money on this debacle should have all of us seething .
Think about that when you vote.

Voting to leave is voting for Washington to take us as a vassal state. I'd rather be a Canadian whose province has constitutional rights than Puerto Rico north.

These are Brexit-style lies: You won't lose out on things, the economy will be better, nothing will change for you, etc.
But Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster for the UK. And separation would be catastrophic for Alberta
A vote to leave is a vote to be annexed by the U.S.
Even if you want Alberta to stay in Canada, vote Option 2.
It’s not a vote for separation. It’s a vote that the status quo with Ottawa is unacceptable — and it gives Premier Smith real leverage instead of sending Carney a message that everything is fine.
Voting Option 1 is a surrender.
