Totally. No traffic at all.
Also, the notion that Oxford Street was 'dominated by traffic' is just not true. Lately it's been dominated by vape shops, tatty tourist stalls, pickpockets, fraudsters, so-called American candy shops and other money-laundering outlets, and those hideous rip-off Tuk-Tuk things covered in garish lights playing loud music. If @MayorofLondon wanted to revitalise Oxford Street, he should have made it a bus and black cab-only zone and clamped down on those monstrosities.

London in a nutshell. Twat cyclists and useless hi-vis ‘security’ engaged in a futile stand-off along a run-down, once iconic area that has descended into tourist traps, tat and money laundering.
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount. Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success. The idea that he thinks this means “more space less traffic” is so moronic it is laughable. If you put more traffic into less space you get more congestion, which is exactly what has happened! He hasn’t got a clue.
Oxford Street. Reimagined.

Many of the Arab citizens of Israel don’t identify as Palestinians. But Sky News will be Sky News.

🚨 PALANTIR CEO: ISRAEL STANDS ALONGSIDE U.S. AND CHINA IN GLOBAL AI RACE Palantir CEO Alex Karp says the U.S. and China dominate artificial intelligence, with Israel the remarkable exception. “With a minor exception in Israel, they’re the only relevant countries.” Karp warns Europe risks becoming dependent on American or Chinese technology, while Israel remains a significant player in advanced AI. @c14english

Hey @SkyNews 👋 Arab Israeli here. Allow me to set the record straight: there are no “Palestinian citizens of Israel” and your attempt to erase our identity and belonging in this country is racist, inaccurate and offensive. Can you imagine saying “the Mexican citizens of the United States” simply because one is Latino? Less than 15% of Arab Israelis identify as Palestinian (and most polls have it closer to 7%). You don’t get to decide what our identity is.

What Israel did in Gaza may well go down in history as the most humane and precise urban warfare environment the world has ever known—the very opposite of genocide. The entire purpose of a genocide is to push civilians into the killing zone. Think about what happened in the Holocaust, where children in line at Auschwitz were given bars of soap, where inside of the gas chambers there were fake shower heads. What was the point? It was to trick and induce civilians to get in to the killing zone so that you could kill more of them more efficiently over time. Israel has done the very opposite—warning civilians and then manning humanitarian corridors with its own soldiers, risking its own sons’ and daughters’ lives to ensure that civilians get out of the killing zone. We see two remarkable things in Gaza. First, according to preeminent urban warfare scholars like John Spencer, Richard Kemp, and Andrew Fox, Israel has the lowest militant-to-civilian kill ratio in the history of urban warfare. Genocides have extreme civilian-to-militant kill ratios. Hundred, thousand, ten thousand-to-one. That’s the point of a genocide. Here we have a militant-to-civilian kill ratio of may be two-to-one—not consistent not just with law of war violations—but much less with genocide. Second, and more importantly, all genocidal regimes get better over time at killing civilians. Again, think about the Holocaust. The Nazis started with firing squads killing 20, 30, 50 people at a time and realized that was too inefficient. Then they got these vans and filled them with exhaust pipes, and they would kill more people. And they said, “We’re never going to get to six million killing them this way.” That led them to construct these massive gas chambers and crematoria—the architecture of true genocide—to kill thousands and thousands of people cheaply and efficiently a day. Israel has done the opposite. Even if you believe Hamas’ numbers, the scale of civilian death in Gaza went down over time. Israel got better and better and spent hundreds of millions of shekels learning how to become more efficient at preserving innocent Palestinians’ lives. Again, the very opposite of genocide.

Shocking really…. I cannot bear their reporting on Israel or Gaza and wish they would be banned from Israel!
Palestinians 👏 are 👏 not 👏 Israelis 👏 Israelis are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Druze and many other creeds and ethnicities — all citizens and all with the same equal right to vote. Palestinians are ruled by their own government, the Palestinian Authority, which has delayed elections for now over 20 years. Their leader is Mahmoud Abbas. Do your research before reporting @SkyNews

Wonderful outcome. I feel her anguish. So glad she took them on ♥️
Very proud of my friend Lucie who was bullied for being a Jew at the BBC and was made redundant just days after winning the corporation an Oscar. Watch her video below

The BBC has agreed to pay £400,000 to an award-winning Jewish documentary-maker who alleged she was subjected to antisemitism and pushed out of the corporation after October 7. Lucie Kon, 57, spent 22 years at the BBC and worked on programmes including Panorama, Today, BBC Breakfast and Storyville. Films she commissioned or helped produce won an Oscar, Emmy and Bafta. Kon says her treatment changed dramatically after the Hamas attacks. She alleges colleagues described Zionists like her as “evil”, argued that Israel should be called terrorist if Hamas was, and told her to consider what had driven Hamas to carry out the massacre. When she proposed a documentary about October 7, Kon says she was told she was “too partial” to oversee it because she was Jewish. She subsequently filed a formal grievance, but a BBC investigation rejected her complaint. Kon says she was then kept away from work for months. During a restructuring, her position was made redundant and she failed to secure the similar role replacing it. She launched unfair-dismissal proceedings. The BBC has now agreed substantial compensation, reported as £400,000, without admitting liability or accepting that Kon suffered antisemitism. Kon says Jewish employees still at the corporation continue to face hostility and feel unable to identify openly as Jewish or Zionist.

I just had a very disturbing conversation with a young man in the sauna at my local gym. After exchanging some basic pleasantries, the conversation quickly moved to his family roots in Qatar. He told me about his father being mistreated there, despite "building much of the country's infrastructure." Without prompting, he made several remarks regarding the state of the Middle East, and before I knew it, we were talking about Israel. He explained to me that global terrorism, and especially terrorism in Israel, was natural. "It's because people are trying to break out of prisons," he said. "Gaza is a concentration camp." While I repeatedly disagreed with him in a polite and measured tone, he grew more and more excited. "The only sovereign nation in the Middle East is Iran!" he told me. "How's that working out for them?" I asked. He also explained to me that "Israel has killed more children than any other country." I asked him about the horrific deaths of children in other wars, to which he had no answer. I asked him about Hamas using the people of Gaza as human shields. He refuted that, as well, suggesting that Hamas wouldn't harm children. He then went on to explain that eventually, the Jews will be outnumbered — and that in time — Israel will be overrun and undone. He seemed exhilarated by the thought of it. "It's getting too hot in here," he said — before abruptly leaving. I just stood there stunned. By all accounts, a normal, probably well-educated young man in Canada, defending terrorism, celebrating the strength of the Iranian regime, and openly predicting Israel's destruction. As I got changed and headed home, I couldn't stop thinking about our talk. There was no green bandana or inverted red triangle — but it was clear how he felt about the situation. How he viewed the world. There are thousands and thousands of young people like this here in Canada, and throughout the West — and in time — we're going to pay a civilizational cost for not addressing this problem when we had the chance.

Leftie teachers are shocked that they might soon be prevented from wearing Palestine badges in the classroom. Spare a thought for the rest of us who are shocked that you were doing that in the first place. You taught kids, including Jewish kids, while adorned in the colours under which more than a thousand Jews were massacred by Islamo-fascists just three years ago? What the hell is wrong with you? ✍️ Brendan O’Neill Article | spectator.com/article/the-gr… | @spikedonline

Shabbat Shalom. Have some decent hummus for me 🙃
Shabbat shalom from Tel Aviv. I am going straight from Israel to an event near, then visiting, Auschwitz. On a Friday night in Israel I am surrounded by vibrant and thriving Jewish existence. A jarring juxtaposition, but together it’s why Israel is so important, especially now.
