i understand people are upset at this because im comparing digital monkeys to one of the most popular brands, but objectively i am talking about asset prices; pros and cons pokemon: - larger & more established collector base - decades of brand recognition - centralised and subjective grading - can be damaged or lost - more illiquid nfts: - transparent & verifiable on-chain supply - rich digital people want to buy digital assets - no physical condition or grading issues - better liquidity - not as much history as pokemon hence less staying power both assets are different, collectibles have existed forever but pokemon mooned in value *after* nft market died to learn from the nft market you have to take out personal bias, both can be true: pokemon will stay and have value & asset prices need to relax as someone who was deep in the nft market and saw the rise and fall, pokemon is at a state closer to the fall than the rise imo no one loses money taking profits!
the way I look at Pokémon cards right now is NFTs in 2022 reason for them going up makes sense (rich people want og collectibles) as did nfts (rich people who made made digital money want collectibles) it’s just it turns into a bubble eventually where price exceeds desire

assume crypto trader makes ~$5M in liquid profits US first time he hit it big, let’s assume he’s lucky and takes 80% of that straight out: ~$4M tax is 50% ~$2.5M taken spending let’s say ~$500K within that year, enjoying his life, treating family, etc $2M left assuming he doesn’t lose that money in crypto people really underestimate how much money they need to make post tax

people taking this $500k/yr spending as excessive when I’m talking about one time costs in the first year they make $5M so they’d buy a house, car, go on holidays etc and that’s 10%! reasonable in this case

Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own

i created my account with no face, voice or credentials i wanted people to judge me on my words, not my status when i got to some status purely through my brand I realised I had to make decisions to change my words to make others happy however that is a dumb decision and the opposite of why it’s for politics is a good example, everything is political and staying away from it is a stance, at least have backbone to push what you believe in and also calling others out, you create haters but someone has to do it

the amount of times random people have asked me on their first message to me to give them 5 figures is ridiculous
it’s crazy how easy people here in crypto ask you to borrow or give them money even though you barely even interacted previously it’s always “hey can you give me [insert money number] because of [insert random sad story]” but i don’t recall any of them ever asking me whether if I needed help i had days where i’d go to sleep in tears because i wasn’t doing enough, i couldn’t rely on others and so many other reasons but i never once went out of my way to be a burden to others, i’d always just tough it out and find ways to push further it wasn’t easy, but that’s what got me to where i am at today sometimes people forget that everyone has their own hardships and care a little bit too much about themselves and don’t give enough thoughts about the other person behind the screen just food for thought

watch how your surroundings (online and offline) impact what you desire keep yourself around people who desire the high life: cars, watches and jets you will naturally want that more be around people who care more about their health, family and making an impact you change generic advice you hear it all the time but hits harder when you put yourself in this position and figure out what’s pushing your desire now fight it if you know it’s dumb internally hedonism will not grant you happiness

you can argue crypto has always been some form of gambling forever but evidently in the last few years it’s turned into just that memecoins, 1000x leverage, prediction markets, casinos this is all that it’s devolved into nowadays sad

fake it till you make it always works but we see it yet again most of CT understand the ~$40M meme is false, but normies don’t kimchis status increased so much outside that pumpfun gave him $6M and funnily enough I think it’ll work in their favour the fake $40m on the new kimchi coin in his wallet will spawn infinite clips on these short form content platforms and go ballistic

wow we are at $2.43M donated with a massive $52K donation from someone that marks one of our biggest 10 donations an individual has done people think the war is over for the children of Gaza but that is far from the truth — it is still ongoing but even if it was the after effects of the war is the part where people need healing

a big mistake is also trying to be something you are not good example of this is content creator positions as trader (then loses all their money) the industry is pretty much trading, an open market with tradeable assets, so it feels like thats the natural role
You should stop trading Let me explain. After my recent post, many people mentioned they want to start trading but only have a small port As @mauritsneo perfectly pointed out in this clip, trading isn't the only way to make money in this space. In fact, it's one of the riskier options Other options - Clipping - Editing - BDing and many more If you have a small portfolio, your first goal should be to grow it by providing services and getting paid for your work, essentially, a job Once you've built a large enough portfolio that you can afford to take risks and absorb losses, then you can look into trading

diamonds might be the dumbest scam of the modern era. you buy a diamond for $10,000 and the moment you walk out, it's worth $4,000. even designer clothing makes more sense. At least you're paying for the brand. with diamonds, you're supposedly paying for the stone itself. entire industry built on convincing people this is normal.
