We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

Incredible he’s back so quick, but no need to rush him.
Biggest compliment we can pay Konsa is that Saliba feels like he hasn’t been missed.
We have the three best centre halves in the league all in the same squad 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️

Liverpool have committed more fouls this season than any other team in the Premier League. Arsenal are joint 17th.
Liverpool rank joint fourth in the league for yellow cards. Arsenal are joint 17th and Liverpool have one red card to Arsenal's none.
Arsenal's highest entry in the most fouls committed by a player in the league is Myles Lewis Skelly at 34th, joint with Szoboszlai. There are four Liverpool players who have committed more than MLS.
This is fan fic nonsense.
Sunday merely served to reinforce the belief that Liverpool as a team are far too nice.
There’s a difference between being streetwise and cheating. It wasn’t pretty, but Arsenal produced a masterclass in the former in the second half on Sunday.
Andoni Iraola was clear post-match that there will be a change of approach. He will tell his players to start going to ground when they are impeded in the box.
It’s a sad state of affairs, but needs must.

no, sorry, the glottal stop is an essential and iconic part of the British accent.
however: there is a war on the letter t and it is being waged by the horrific Americanised soft “t” - saying it like “bridish” with a very soft d sound. this we must resist
All three surviving Traitors in the flame-lit final episodes of the BBC's Celebrity Traitors pronounced the word 'traitor' as 'trai'or'. They'd been 'recrui'ed', for better or for worse, and had 'had the hea' pu' on them' at various times throughout the series.
'This is the final murder and it's really impor'an,' said Maya Jama at midnight in the turret. 'I'm not goin' down wivou' a figh'. I'm ge'in' shivers,' said Kenny.

Brilliantly articulated.
Arteta’s job is not to “entertain” neutrals. It’s to win football matches.
In broad terms, that’s where his job begins and ends. Win.
Pretending you don’t like it for aesthetic reasons is disingenuous. Just admit you don’t like Arsenal winning.
One of my favourite things about this win is the absolute slew of “Arsenal aren’t that good actually” posts from Liverpool fans
You just lost without getting a shot on target for the first time ever. Last time I checked defending is part of the game
Totally on board with this, and was from the moment the reaction happened.
He may be 16, but we shouldn’t mollycoddle him. No matter his age, he’s a senior player now.
Was never going to be a successful appeal, never.
Regulation & Discipline update on @Arsenal:

ALT An independent Regulatory Commission has dismissed claims of both wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment for Max Dowman. The Arsenal player was sent off during their EFL Cup game against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday 27 October and will be suspended for three matches. The Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions will be published in due course.

More matches at the age of 22 than Lionel Messi. 87 Premier League games in a row.
Bukayo Saka’s injury issues should come as no real surprise.
Years of overplaying and poor recruitment - Arsenal are facing the inevitable consequences.

My favourite detail is him saying “you sort it out amongst yourselves you cunts” and then when they start talking to each other after he leaves he comes steaming back in screaming again
Just brilliant
Saka, Dowman, Tzolis injured, Dowman knows this and got himself banned for 3 games.
I’m fucking sick to my stomach.
Mikel Arteta has revealed that Riccardo Calafiori, Noni Madueke and Declan Rice all missed this Carabao Cuo game with injury.
Calafiori was “out”, Madueke has an ankle problem and Rice “picked up something the other day”. #afc

I love Max. I don’t care about the Carabao cup either (rather have fewer fixtures in the new year). I think the challenge on him was unnecessarily heavy and a cuntish move.
But if he wants to play men’s football at his age, he needs to be more mature and that’s what Mikel will be thinking.
You don’t lash out, which is what he did. He kicked into him off the ball and planted his studs into the thigh of the twat who went for him. That HAS to be a red card. No ifs or buts.
The smart play is to either go down holding your legs (and get the opposition player booked) or have a teammate smash him on the ball. Anyone advocating that he’s “standing up for himself” there is just as immature as Max was. Did nothing to help himself or his team.
He’s only 16, yes. But if you want to play for a title challenger at 16 then you need to be wiser than that.

Humiliated but we’ll have fans celebrate the fact we ‘save legs’.
Make the players walk home. One of the worst defeats in our history. Fucking idiots.
