Cory and @SportsofSHSU will be discussing this at length tomorrow night at 6 p.m. Some of your candidates are on our radar, too. Some haven’t been, but could be now?

"I wouldn't have done the patch again with this head coach, for a multitude of reasons" - @jacksettleman
Says the main reason is he wants the HC to be more invovled with media, references they never spoke with Longo, but for example did talk at length with MBB HC Chris Mudge. Also says if Longo stayed it would have been much much harder to turn things around for next season and get Snapback a winning football team.

I'd like to take a moment and thank @CoachPhilLongo for his time here at Sam Houston. He was nothing but respectful with the media, would take time to chit chat with us before and after practices and pressers in the off-seasons. Nothing but respect to him as a person and I wish him and his family the best on their next stop.

Probably a move that needed to happen at some point, but it’s never easy to watch someone lose their job.
Appreciate Coach Longo for his hospitality and for welcoming me each time I was around the program.

It will be fascinating to see how the next few months play out.
This next hire is one you can absolutely not whiff on and the search must start immediately.
Another question is who makes the hire. Will it solely be up to Bobby Williams who is retiring next summer?

Associate Head Coach Eric Raisbeck and Defensive Coordinator Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay will serve as interim co-head coaches per release.

Garbage statement. Thought he played well in his first start.
If Longo's looking for the problem, he needs to start by looking in a mirror.
Fire him now.
Phil Longo's postgame comments on DJ Bailey: "Some of the things that probably keep him from being the starter, or the backup, kind of, they showed tonight."

At the very least, he was as good as Locke last night. Certainly better than Holloway at this point. With more reps, who knows. But the thought that he wasn’t QB2 last night is unconscionable.

That’s such an odd thing to say.
Yes Bailey has things to work on, but he actually proved he deserves to prove he can be QB1.
It’s his first full game, outside of one drive.
There are of course flaws going to be shown. What else you expect?

An in over his head coach taking shots at the QB he didn’t recruit. With all the injuries around him, I think Bailey showed plenty last night. At a minimum he’s better than Holloway. And I’m not 100 percent sure Locke is light years better than he is if they both had full rosters

After watching these clips he looks dazed and confused like he doesn’t know what just happened
