Sprinters do not display stiffer tendons than even untrained control subjects, and stiffer tendons are certainly not something associated with faster running speeds.

"I like the term work capacity, as opposed to building a base." "Somehow this myth got started that if we train real general capacities, it will support specific capacities, and that's a lie. Data doesn't support that." ~@PfaffSC
Replying to @pntrack
Every day of aerobic-focused work is a day (or 2 days) where athletes are NOT getting faster, stronger, bouncier, and more explosive. Furthermore, mindless conditioning can actually DETRAIN speed and power metrics.

Me this morning: Maybe I’m to judgmental about 7on7. Go to a tournament today and see for yourself how it goes. 4 hours later:

One very common error in S&C is the assumption that making an athlete stronger automatically makes them faster. This fails to understand that maximum fiber force and maximum fiber velocity are completely separate factors with their own independent limitations.

To understand whether active recovery does anything, we first need a post-workout fatigue model. After that, we need to look how additional exercise affects the components of that model. Read more in the weekly free Patreon article.

The timelessness of tackle. And the future of flag. The debate that pits NFL players against flag football players might miss the point. Two Gilbert brothers, fresh off selections to the U.S. Junior National Flag Football team, say there's beauty in both sports. @12SportsAZ

Negative Tangential Foot Speed- The best way to kill this quality and trap your athletes in speed plateaus is to overdose with ankling and mini-hurdles. It’s crazy how many videos state they are working on a specific quality & the exact opposite is occurring. So frustrating.

A single sport athlete will get a short break before starting travel/club/AAU. Play football and lose in the playoffs? Basketball practice next morning. Basketball ends? Baseball/track already started 3 weeks ago. That ends? June is in-season basketball. 7v7 season in July.
