Ironically, Israel is exactly the kind of ally the America First crowd claims to want. It has the same enemies as the United States, its military complements American power, and tries to take care of as much as possible without involving U.S. forces. freebeacon.com/columns/the-u…

During his trip to India, Marco Rubio said, "I think in five years, we'll look back and say it's one of the strongest relationships in the world." Helping India defend its territory would go a long way to making that prediction true. freebeacon.com/columns/its-n…

If America's allies themselves could keep the Middle East relatively tranquil and allow the oil to flow freely, it would relieve a massive headache for Washington. Yemen shows how difficult this will be to accomplish without first defeating Iran. freebeacon.com/columns/reali…

Putin inherited a diminished Russia that struggled to control its territory, was economically moribund, and could not shape the international environment in its favor. Thanks to his own hubris, he could leave his country in even worse shape than when he found it. Link below.

The intended mass shooting at an Illinois Hindu temple is horrifying, and downstream of the growing anti-Indian hatred that has been escalating over the last year. Indian Americans deserve to live and worship without fear of racist violence. Such anti-Indian hatred should receive prompt, unequivocal condemnation across the political spectrum.
#BREAKING: Potential Mass Shooting Plot Thwarted in Aurora, Illinois. Authorities say a 19-year-old allegedly plotted a mass shooting targeting a Hindu place of worship. Police reportedly recovered a rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, body armor and a manifesto expressing white supremacist extremism and hostility toward people of Indian descent. This comes during Navaratri when thousands of Hindus gather for Garba and also just two weeks after a Hindu temple in Ohio was attacked. We commend law enforcement for swift action. We also urge the community to stay vigilant and Report any potential threat. Every community deserves to worship without fear. chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2…

For Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the traditions at the heart of Western civilization are most valuable at times of great peril, like today. They are becoming increasingly important for meeting today's and tomorrow's challenges. freebeacon.com/columns/rubio…

When a terrorist attempted to hijack an airplane bound for Israel from Dubai, an improvised multinational coalition sprang into action. This was largely the work of brave individuals, but it illustrates the larger forces affecting Israel's foreign policy. freebeacon.com/columns/israe…

If a war breaks out between major powers, the fight will extend far above the stratosphere. Maintaining America's advantage in space is important, but so is using those capabilities to their greatest effect. freebeacon.com/columns/rampi…

On September 19, 1796, President George Washington advised the United States in a written speech to maintain neutrality in the European conflicts that threatened our young nation’s survival as he departed from the presidency. Yet, contrary to the claims of “Farewell Address Fundamentalists,” Washington argued that such an approach would later enable us to determine our foreign policy and “choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.” In this episode, @rachelhoff814, Policy Director @ReaganInstitute, and @MikeWatsonVa, Executive Director of @hamiltonsoc, examine the true meaning of Washington’s Farewell Address.

Few things bring me as much joy as when @hamiltonsoc visits my hometown, Dallas. Shoutout to @wrmead and @MikeWatsonVa for leading an engaging dinner discussion. Much to be hopeful for thanks to their leadership! And shoutout to our namesake in the background, too.

Today, the Ronald Reagan Institute published The Future of Conservative Internationalism, Volume VII, a new collection of essays from the Reagan Institute Strategy Group (RISG). Drawing on discussions from the 2026 RISG Summer Retreat, 18 leading foreign policy and national security thinkers examine how President Reagan’s enduring principles can guide American leadership amid a strategic environment defined by overlapping threats, competing demands, and challenges across multiple regions. The collection ranges from U.S.-China competition and the future of NATO to the Middle East, the Western Hemisphere, economic statecraft, and the challenge of resourcing American defense. On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, there is—believe it or not—a debate about why the attacks occurred. Some blame Israel, arguing that the Muslim world’s quarrel with the United States rests only on its relationship with the Jewish state. Others paint the attack as a natural response to U.S. imperialism. “Neither claim is true,” Free Beacon columnist @MikeWatsonVa writes. Put simply: It’s not us, it’s them.

The public has grown restless with the inconclusive nature of this conflict, but Americans have been here before and prevailed. Donald Trump does not want to send troops into Iran, so he may need to gin up some from elsewhere. freebeacon.com/columns/civil…
