The fact that Edward *doesn't know he's the villain* also leads to some devastating humor (at his expense).

I love watching Jonah Hauer-King's work as Edward. By playing the character entirely straight and from a place of deep personal truth, he honors the straight narrative while letting the irony of the situation shine through naturally. Superb craft. #thefaceofhorror

Also when people say it's too long I regret not releasing the three-hour version, which was rad
When I was a film student, all everyone talked about was my production values, complaining that they weren't good enough. So I worked. Really. Hard. On my product values. And now still all anyone wants to talk about is my production values. (???) #thefaceofhorror

Ten years after 'The Love Witch,' Anna Biller's ability to recreate not just the aesthetic and performance styles but also deliberate pacing of 1950s and ’60s genre cinema remains unparalleled.

Altered States (1980) and The Lair of the White Worm (1988) are both very fine examples of the sheer cinematic audacity and borderline lunacy of the late, great Ken Russell.
Altered States is by far the most compelling, and it stays with you long after it's finished. But Worm is so very, very entertaining and probably the better movie 'in the moment'.
Thoughts?

Yes. And I love Lynn Bari! Have you seen her in "Shock," with Vincent Price? Another good psychological noir.

@IanKeithMcDowel and I just watched WICKED WOMAN (Russell Rouse 1953) 😳💔😭 Have you seen it?
Beverley Michaels gave one of the best cinematic depictions of female rage I’ve ever seen! It proves again your belief that B movies say more about social issues than big $$ films.
