Every month this year, I intend to give away a full class set of one book via @ANewChapterBks - I truly believe a full class set is one of the most valuable resources a teacher can have when teaching reading.
No faff to enter, just retweet and consider yourself in.

Omg this outrage over parents having to pay VAT on private education. But zero fucks given for those parents who struggle to pay for uniforms or even school meals. Why are those parents told ‘go without Netflix, stop going Costa or my personal fav get a better job’? Fuck #OneRule

Rachel Reeves had fucked all farmers, she has destroyed their ability to pass farms on to their children, and broken the future of all our great estates, it is an appalling decisions which shows the government has ZERO understanding of the what matters to rural voters.

I have an overwhelming urge to shout "just shut up!" at Ofsted right now. How dare they pontificate on early years like this? I don't think I've ever seen so much confidently pronounced nonsense from what is quite frankly an inspectorate in a mess.

I'm sorry but this 'school ready' stuff infuriates me. For a start, Reception year is meant to be early years provision not school! If children aren't 'ready' we have to adapt the system to meet their needs not make more demands of children and settings.

Clean water is a human right!
'You could get very sick, dangerously sick from immersion and consuming this water.'
@SteveBackshall declared ‘the Thames is toxic’ earlier this year after samples were taken from the river close to his home.
Steve reveals recent tests found high levels of E. coli in the water.

We pay more per hour for our dogs to be looked after than we do for our children to be cared for, nurtured and educated.
Hourly rate below
Dog walker/carer £15 per hour
Nursery Professional 8.50-11.80 per hour
Parents should be outraged, we all should be outraged at this.

If someone is falling behind in life, you don't have to remind them. Believe me, they already know. If someone is unhealthy, they know. If someone is struggling in their relationships, with money, with self-image, they know.
It's what consumes their thoughts each day. What you need to do for those who are struggling is not to reprimand, but to encourage. Tell them what's good about their lives, and show them the potential that you see. Love them where they are.
When we can't see clearly for ourselves, we need others to speak greatness over us. People don't need you to tell them what is wrong with their lives, they already know. They need you to reassure them they can still make it right.
Not sure where I saw this but it’s absolutely amazing & so so true.
Be someone’s beacon of light & hope tonight ❤️❤️
Be you. Do you. For you.❤️
